Hi Sydney. Port Mac, here. I love what he said about groove , how the snare sits on the back of the beat , and voila, that's their groove ! I never realised this but that is precisely why I loved them (and still do). Think of it : without that groove, they'd be Iron Maiden! It's what kept them in the 'Hard Rock' genre and not 'Metal'. It's the groove that puts this swagger, this rolling attitude...a common thread in all the Rock bands I like : G n R...the Cult...ACDC....even Motley Crue & Poison! ( I'm not admitting to being a fan of the last pair...but let's just say I've learnt a solo or six from our Glam friends , CC Deville & Mick Mars 😉).

I bought both the tab books for Skid Row when I was like 15 and then learned them note for note, even though they weren't completely accurate which I figured out over time, and I still have them to this day, I always felt like Dave and Scotti were incredible guitarists, you guys just had a much heavier sound than most other bands of the time. Both you guys were a huge influence on my playing, I don't know if you'll ever see this Dave or Scotti but I just wanted to say thanks cause I still jam to Skid Row to this day. THANKS for doing this, Dave Sabo and Rachel Bolan wrote the best songs and this video shows how they combined chops and Max Martin hooks (he used to sing in the band "It´s Alive" around -91, Martin White was his stage name), a winning combo for sure, and i think their music sounds as good as then. ♥️

@Andy Cummings well, I didn't want to sound rude about snake. What I meant was that I always saw Scotti as the lead guitarist in the band, and Snake kind of flew out of my radar. But that is my own (clearly flawed) perception. Maybe due to the low profile of the band (outside you know who) I never got to the point of reading about the band and who was the main composer and that kind of thing. This video clearly proves me wrong and puts Snake under a new perspective. And that's why this video is great

I just received the Dave Sabo guitar and it's beautiful, not disappointing at all! I have it with my original 1990 Kramer Nightswan. I added some Fu-Tone Titanium saddle screws and saddle blocks and the brass big block, wow does this guitar come alive! The Sabo model knocks it outa the park, just a beautiful beast of a guitar! Dave is an awesome guy, would love to meet him.

This is killer! I was hoping you guys would get snake on here aswell!! The two guitar tandem of skid row is not complete without scotti AND snake. These guys work so well with each other. These guys are right up at the top of my list of 80’s/90’s dual guitarists. I always admired what I can’t do! I can do the eddy, randy, zakk, dime thing of one guy filling up as much sonic space as possible. But sharing space with another guitarist has always been extremely difficult for me. Not because I’m greedy! But because I’m too dumb musically to understand how to let someone else in.

I remember standing in the front row of the Milton Keynes Bowl in the UK watching Dave crack out Piece of Me from the debut Skid Row album, such fantastic riffs. Such a great groove and attitude to the Snake's playing

He's definitely brilliant guitarist to make simply on every riff but so touched. It's about tone not about loud🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Another awesome episode from you guys and girls on Gibson TV. Dave seems to such a nice guy and Skid Row's awesome music are going to be played forever in my home. Did get to see them -89 in Stockholm with Mötley Crue as a 15 yo teen, it was a awesome concert. Ofc it's before social media and everything around the bands were much more hidden in mystics. Will music ever be this good and magical again?
