Nice video. I took a Kabar Dozier as my primary knife on a backpacking trip to Yosemite this year due to the light weight and low price (in case I lost it) and it served me well and was all the knife I needed.

Leatherman c33l it’s an American made knife with 420hc, same leatherman warranty and the launcher on it is really good, plus it’s karabiner doubles as a bottle opener and mine came with a solid lock up 3 years ago. Still solid and the finish they used is pretty good. And blade is still centerd

Wow well done! I own 3 of those 8 (and about 50 others 😂) the first two are all time favorites and the last one I just got about two months ago and was blown away. It’s basically a $25 small sebenza but done as a ball bearing flipper. The lock up is perfection and it came hair popping sharp out of box. Everyone needs to buy that knife while it’s still so cheap. Great video! You got a new sub!

Everybody should own a Ruike 801. Period. And everybody who calls, hunts, fishes, or works should own the Buck. These are by far the two best knives I have found in your price range. I own a bunch of Buck knives and several Ruike 801s. Both also have the best steel on your list as well. That Sanvik 14C28n steel on the Ruike is the same as on the Mora Garberg. And the Buck 420HC is of course legendary.

I agree on the Ruike being the absolute best value out of the lineup. The Rat's are damn close to top budget knife winners, but that Ruike has better steel, and a ball bearing flipper, which also happens to be a rare pivot bearing system, for 30 bucks has to take the value award, hands down. For the money, it's an incredible knife. Thanks for the review..over all good picks for the budget knife crowd.

No 30 dollar list should be taken seriously without the volt ss its one of the most ergonomic, smooth and all around amazing not just sub 30$ but any price point knives ever created. It fits in your hand better than a glove I'd rather have it than any of the knives you've recommend. If you have never had one get one it will blow your sack right out the back of Walmart joggers.

Great video! Solid choices. It's been said but thanks for looking out for us lefties! You're right, except maybe clean styling, there's no reason not to make knives ambidextrous. Even for right handed people who may want their back up knife on the left. That's what I'm doing just putting my back up on the right and training my right hand as well. This lets me take advantage of some right carry only knives.

You can't beat the Victorinox recruit for $17. 2 great thin and extremely slicy blades, 3 screwdrivers if you know how to use It, light prying capabilities, plus a toothpick and tweezers, all in such a compact pocket friendly package. Next to that I'd consider the KA-BAR Dozier decent, though it's not the best slicer. My Buck 482 slices better and is American made, so It wins out for me.

Excellent list and of course everyone has a knife it two they would add to the list and I’m no different. I would ask that any knife lover give the Opinel a try. Depending on the model, it can be a sub $10 knife, such as my favorite the model 8. It’s nothing fancy but a good utilitarian knife.

Your list is not complete if you don't add the LAPG TBFN in s35vn for $28.99 (on sale from #37ish). I really LOVE this knife and the steel is unbeatable at $30ish. Peace to all. Blessed n Joyous Christmas. oh and ANY Ruike is exceptional.

I'm glad you recommended the Ruike P801. It's an amazing knife (especially for the price). I own 3 of them, and they are some of the knives that I carry most. Speaking of carry - the P801 is great in the pocket. The super slim design and the deep carry clip almost force me to grab this knife as soon as I put on my pants. Plus, the action is fun as heck. I don't know if you own one, but you should also check out the Ruike P108. The action is even more authoritative than the 801!

I have spoken, that is verbally, with the guys at ruikeknives dot ca (for Canadians) and yes, the proper pronunciation is RAKE Knives. They have some very awesome deals with super 14C28N Sandvik steel blades.

I asked the company for confirmation and this was their response "Hi Matt, it's /reik/."

No love for the Swiss Army Knife. Maybe it’s considered a multi tool.

DamionJR4923 love my Swiss Army Knives! I’ve always been a Victorinox fan, but I just got a Wenger “Backpacker” on eBay. I love it’s slightly smaller size (85mm as opposed to 91mm).

If you only think of the 111mm, I totally agree with you. For their size and price point, there are better options out there. But if you kick down a notch and think about the 91mm... It's like having an EDC toolbox in your pocket - and not feeling it! Give one a try, and see for yourself!

It’s hard to beat a SAK. Iconic, politically correct, functional, life time warranty, etc. No matter what size you choose, the sak represents a high level of capability in a small package. The brand has a lot of bang for the price point. Their attention to detail and quality are amazing.
