I've run a Woodmizer LT40HD sawmill for 35 years. I would recommend taking the extra time hand bombing the finished boards onto the forklift rather than manipulating the forks under the complete finished pile to be lifted off. Trust me, eventually you will hit and bend the rail and knock everything out of alignment, a very expensive fix. Nice video.

Great operation and teamwork. If I could make a suggestion, have someone scrape off the fresh cut lumber and sticker it to prevent moulding from the sawdust trapped between them. It seems like you have enough man power there to keep up with the mill. Great video.

Wow.... that that's a pretty elaborate chainsaw! That thing opens up a lot of options and opportunities for you. You can cut all your own corral lumber, and lumber for buildings. Sell some? Looks like it's pretty mobile, so you can go out and do custom lumber cutting. Looks like a good investment in your area where everyone has all kinds of trees that can be cut up. So is it going to be Gierok Farms and Lumber Co. now?

Do you sell your wood by the board foot. by the liner foot. What spices are available. What is your drying time. Are you thinking about a kiln for drying. Do you have a moisture gage? Just asking.

How does the mill work in the farm economics? I see you cut for personal use for things like Masons deer blinds, but is custom milling a revenue stream?

I'm curious, what do you think is the payback time for your sawmill? I know that it's value is in what you actually sell, you can use the lumber yourself. But if you price the savings over what you would otherwise have to buy, and figure what you can sell, how soon will it pay you back? I have trees, and I have SOME time on weekends, and the equipment to get trees to a place for milling. Definitely interested in something like that. Great video, and great explanation of the set up!👍👍
