It's a lovely big screen, Wish I could make use of something like this, but just way too big for most cars.. I can see this maybe being ok in a 4x4 or something with a large open cabin, but looks out of place in a smaller car.

Oddly enough I had no trouble installing Netflix on my Atoto S8, which has Android 10. Installed from the playstore no problem. I had to sideload Hulu and Disney+ though. Same on the A6 PF we have for my wife's car.

Hi, like your reviews a lot, watched your "best three brands" video and got my father in law a Joying 10.1" for his Mitsubishi ASX as a birthday present... but there is an issue... any chance you came across this and have an advice for us? ... he went to an official, authorized Mitsubishi service to get it installed... but the Airbag warning light (on the instrument cluster behind the wheel) was on... so they told him he can't use it and ended up putting the old one back... did you have this on a car before? any idea what to do? Was it a headunit with a canbus decoder included? Some of them can introduce odd behaviour if they're not 100% designed for that vehicle. Case in point, my Xtrons unit makes my Eos' vents open and shut sometimes.

Thanks for these videos, they are great and very informative! I'm interested in putting this head unit in a 2017 Seat Alhambra. A few questions for you if you don't mind; 1. Do they ever update these units? ie. Android 13/14, etc? 2. Will this be able to integrate my existing rear parking camera and parking sensors? 3. Will it be able to use my existing DAB aerial? For these reviews I would appreciate greater attention to audio, beyond running through the interfaces. For example, does this unit, or any Chinese Android HU, support US HD Radio? If not, why not? Which tuner IC does this unit use, and how to does it compare to the competition? And, of particular interest to me, how well does it support external amplifiers? For example, are there specific preamp outs and, if so, at what voltage? Thanks.

Big thanks for your reviews, you are doing a great job for all of us! :) At the moment I can not make the decision between XTRONS TIX221L and ATOTO S8 Ultra Plus 10 inch. I like Xtrons specs (8Gb RAM) but dont like big black frame around screen. It looks a little bit like old tablet from 2000. :) Atoto have weaker specs (resolution, RAM) but the size is just perfect! Tell me - how to choose? :)

The 3 usb ports on this device do not have enough power to charge your phone which is pretty poor, the headunit uses 2.4ghz not 5ghz as described. The screen on mine is intermittently showing some screen issues in one corner so having to replace it. If you delete Netflix you cannot redownload it unless you use an APK file which makes me think is it really android 12

How sensitive are the FM tuners in these android headunits? My wife likes to listen to "fringe" radio stations but wants a bigger screen for navagation. She has a mid level Sony double Din and likes the tuner.

Found their after sales really poor, needed a new dongle for the usb sim adapter as the small metal cage that holds the sim actually fell out and somehow got lost, i was happy to pay for replacement, emailed them 3 times and never received any reply

You may need to calibrate the screen after installation. I had issues particularly on the lower area of the screen, and also icons being “off”. That part was easy to fix with the calibration function in the car factory settings

I have a wire I even cut to flip it on the camera itself and it did nothing. Its in the unit but there is not many options. Your older xtron install with cameras had all kinds of options.

How do you think extreme heat would effect this unit? I live in Texas, and it frequently gets well over 100 degrees (F) here. I'm worried that if I get in my truck, that may be well over 130 degrees after sitting in the hot sun, this unit might have issues. Thoughts?

It will be switched off when that heat occurs so nothing to worry about. When it's switched on, you're going to be in the car and the temperature will be much lower

The radio part and RDS, here in Sweden the often send the song name on RDS. Does this show that? And what about screen dimming? All Android HU I have tested are way to bright at night, even at the lowest setting.

I did discuss RDS specifically in the video. As for screen dimming, there are apps that you can install that can further reduce the brightness of the screen via software

Debating whether to get one of the vehicle specific models or universal with the connect adapter kit? Ultimately, they're the same because you'll be using the same CANbus decoders. Also in many cases, the vehicle specific ones are just a generic head unit in a car-specific facia, so you can remove it from that facia when you sell the car and get one for whatever the new car is

Hi, I've ordered AN eonon UA12S Plus, in previous videos you had links to a dash trim kit, and a wiring loom from amazon for a Saab 9-5 Install. I can't find these links looking through previous videos, 🤦 can you post a link to a trim kit, and will I need any additional wiring looms to fit to my 2007 9-5?

I've actually already created a video for that Eonon head unit which will be released later this week. With regards to the 2007 9-5, that's the facelift model and you'll need the harnesses from incartec. Unfortunately, the steering wheel controls will not be plug and play, you'll have to fish out the relevant wire. I got mine from behind the instument cluster

What they haven't done well is the remote installation of that huge radio box. Why not make the screen, then a 16 foot cable for rear boot installation. Because not many of us have that kind of real estate to install that huge clunky box Then the screen it so big, it would cover heater and AC vents. Let me know when you have a new android unit that would fit or be remote for my 2017 Mazda 3. North American

The "elephant in the room" is that the screen is blocking some buttons on the dash. Also, a thief would think that screen is an iPad. Unfortunately, that's the risk this headunit poses.

I mean that's a very basic head unit. Pretty much any branded Android head unit is going to be better than that. Have a look at the Eonon stuff and the Atoto A6, those will be around your budget and offer you many more features

Atmos is additional channels of sound beyond the usual 5.1/7.1 to emulate excellent multidirectional audio, it's not a technology for cars. The best you can get for cars from a surround sound perspective is 5.1 channels, which is separate channels to front, rear, centre, and subwoofer, and those head units can decode DTS for real surround sound in movies ect. This head unit doesn't have a separate centre channel. Spartial audio is featured on many head units with their own flavours and this Xtrons is one of them. Lossless, technically yes as you are playing the music directly (Although there are limitations to the Android operating system), but to be honest if you are talking at audiophile levels of sound quality, I would suggest Joying

I have already tested an 8gb flagship 7in model, it wasn't Android 12 though. If the one you're looking at is Android 12, then the hardware and interface should be identical to the one in this video

Absolutely nasty and looks way out of place in the 9³. In my mind what companies need to be doing is making kits to relocate vents lower so headunits can be mounted higher, a swap around if you will. With older cars like the 9³ and my current CC your having to look down to check your nav/AA/Car Play rendering the point of Android Auto/Carplay pointless.
