@@nonononitononito1176 actually this is not ecological, you need more paper than Japanese style and here the paper is plasticized so you can't recycle it. Japanese style need less paper, in the videos that I saw they use a recyclable paper and they don't use a lot of tapes.

Where do you find stiff wrapping paper like that? It seems like it would be a lot easier to put tension on it without any ripping since it's so much thicker. :)

you'd be surprised. i use a close aproximation of this method but with that same tension and modern paper holds up prety well. you just have to make sure you're pull along a wider area to spread out the force.

I think that's rather sophisticated. I couldn't do the Japanese way like other are suggesting is better too hard. But I might be able to do this. I wonder how many others actually wrap presents well anymore? I like that it doesn't use sticky tape.
This comment section gave me a headache. People arguing over Japanese vs Victorian style? Wth. To be honest, most of the videos people see about the Japanese style are the common ones(done by chain stores), not the elegant/luxurious methods with intricate origami wrappings, so comparing them(the 40 seconds Japanese wrapping and the Victorian) it’s not logical to begin with.
