If you can't have vegetable oil, you can use an equal amount of unsweetened applesauce. It is healthy, there is no difference in taste and it works in place of Crisco too! It has helped me and several family members who have food allergies especially soy! Thank you for sharing your beautiful recipes in a jar.!

I will be using large cheese whiz Jars when I put my jars together for gifts. I like to hang on to my wide mouth Jars for canning. I live in a tiny community and ordered a lot on line due to health issues and can’t go shopping much. I have a number of parcels sitting in the mail waiting for the mail to start moving again. But this is good for the business in our areas.
@ashlieorcutt50375 күн бұрын
my husband gave me an idea instead of using the jars, use mylar bags. They still seal and keep well but then you are spending less money giving it in a bag vs the jar. Main downside I see is you cant see the lovely layers but it also saves you from having to keep getting more jars like we always seem to have to do

Hi Colleen , I do the same thing with Amazon that you do. How wonderful and generous of you to make a gift for the person that picks up your waist. We should get back to doing things like that, It’s a beautiful thing. Love this idea and the recycling of the cards, I actually cut the cards out that are the old-fashioned ones and use them to hang on trees and gland as ornaments. Just another idea what you can do with them rather than throwing them out because they are very expensive quite frankly. A typical nice hallmark card here in Florida cost eight dollars.😮 have a beautiful Merry Christmas up there. Cheers from Florida….Brian

Hi Colleen, this is the first time for ages any of your videos have come up on my iPad, I don’t know why cos I’m subscribed properly. I thought something was wrong and you hadn’t been putting any videos on. I should learn to check instead of assuming. I love videos like this so thank you. There is one thing I’m very curious about. Why don’t people use self raising flour because you don’t need baking powder or salt as it’s already in the flour, I’ve always wondered about that and think that perhaps it’s not so readily available in other countries. Also Colleen, would it make a difference if I cut way back on the sugar in the recipes. I am not used to so much sugar. I made brownie mix last year for some of my grandkids (the one where they cook it in a mug) and they loved it. I’d like to do it again with your recipes but I dare not give them so much sugar at once. Their mother would slaughter me lol. I think I’m the only person in the world that dislikes brownies and in Australia I fe3l like I’m the only one that dislikes Tim Tam chocolate biscuits. Im only giving my grandkids money this year so I thought how nice would it be to give them big jars of mixture so they can cook it for themselves and all share together as these ones are all in one household. I’m hoping it stops them fighting and they enjoy working together lol, not sure how it will work but at the bottom of the instructions is going to be the words PLEASE TIDY UP AFTER USE AND PLEASE WASH, DRY AND PUT YOUR DISHES AWAY IN THE CUPBOARD FOR YOUR MOTHER. THANK YOU ♥️♥️❤️♥️♥️. See if it works or not. Thank you in advance Colleen for your reply (if you gave time). Merry Christmas to you and your husband and I pray it’s filled with Blessings. TFS you great videos and I have missed watching them.

@pamelataylor3537 Hello Pamela, Thank you for the message, I appreciate hearing from you. While we can get self rising flour in Canada, it is commonly sold and is prohibitive because it has the baking powder in it. We can't use it for bread, so mostly people use an all-purpose flour and then add the baking powder. Food gifts always seem to be well received, and you don't have to dust them or remember who gave them. 😀 Merry Christmas from Gino and I, i hope the New Year brings you unexpected blessings.
