Great videos! Is your crossover in the speakers, or do you have a crossover somewhere else in the signal chain? Thanks! You guys are the best!
@thesoundcouple2 жыл бұрын
We use the cabinet DSP software Worx Control to manage crossover settings. It's been a long time since we have looked it, but I think we crossover at 90Hz? Thanks for watching!

We own the Shure ULXD4Q system. Not cheap, but it was a great investment for us. Thank you for watching!

i noticed you have 2 subs and 2 cdl12's all pugged into 1 power strip. can you run 2 subs and 2 tops at gig volume of one outlet/circuit?
@thesoundcouple2 жыл бұрын
Yes, and this is pretty standard for us. We also will throw some lighting on the strip as well and it's never caused us any issues.

@@thesoundcouple Often, I would say it depedns. If someone would want really clean audio signal for, let's say, live stream purposes or audio overall/MTK recording, then I wouldn't recommend to conenct any light equipment to the same phase (especially dimmers!) where audio equipment is connected to. In the PA it's often not so noticable but it makes horrible sounds. :D A lot of small local theatres have all equipment (laptops, lights, audio, even fans, ...) connected to the same outlet phase. Sometimes you just have to work with what you've got. But in the audio recordings there are artifacts right in the moments where lights are changing. :) I know, I'm perfectionist but it just irritates me. I want to have clean recordings and satisfied customer even I know that customers knows and understands that this issue will be present and why. :D

@@BuriTechVids Good advice and feedback. It can be a challenge to educating customers as some just don't want to be bothered with the important details.

What software are you using on your Surface Pro?
@thesoundcouple Жыл бұрын
The Surface Pro is running Windows 10. We run PreSonus UC Surface in it to control the mixer.

Instead of trying to maneuver the van into a tight spot into the garage for loading, why didn't you just temporarily pull the other car out of the garage, you wasted so much time when you could have started loading sooner. Think before you execute!

Is it enough to live there doing sound work? I'm in Vietnam, making sound can't afford equipment. do this business at a loss.
@thesoundcouple2 жыл бұрын
It's a tough business in the U.S. as well but we know people that make it work. We do this part time so our perspective is a bit different. I will share that we have had our share of losses over the years as well.
