Im using the Karsolas myself I think it has better horde clear meanwhile Branx feels more complicated like you really have to use all attack modes to get around with this powerful weapon other than that awesome weapons smashing heads with

So far my favorite pickaxe is the light version, loving its sweeping heavys and still good dmg, plus i run it with the slow and steady for amazing toughness replenishment

I love this weapon, but I'm having a hard time avoiding chip dmg or just outright getting bonked by several enemies at once due to swing n movement speed. I've been trying to watch the sweaties to learn how to avoid dmg. It's not wearing off. Lol. Great gameplay.

The rush ability and just block pushing attack is enough. Getting hit isnt a problem too just make sure your heavy attack is not interrupted You'd gain your toughness back.

Old comment, but are you using pushstab? Very effective and it's the safer option to initiate heavy -> light chains for horde clear
