The Momo Clutch Counter has got to reach *at least* 1000 by this episode. Her plans, quirk and quick thinking gave the students a chance bigger than zero when fighting Gigantomachia, which is something not a lot of (read: almost none) of the pro heroes could brag about. They were ultimately unsuccessful, but that isn't really a terrible result when fighting Machia. The fact they made it out alive is honestly impressive enough.

Splitting the Machia fight and Shigaraki fight today with one new profile. This is the Shigaraki fight. Last we saw Shigaraki he was getting blown up by Endeavor’s new Vanishing Fist and the Phoenix Wings everyone loves but keep forgetting. Bakugo is just STUNNED Shigaraki is still alive. Endeavor gives Shigaraki a chance to monologue a bit, and I can just HEAR people screaming at Endeavor to finish the job. And they also forget between the low level Nomu, the 4 High-Ends, escaping the decay, and whittling down Shigaraki both WITH quirks AND without them as he chased him across a giant city sized decay crater, he is practically running on empty. Endeavor CAN approach the power of Injured All-Might…and it lasts LESS THAN A SECOND while Shigaraki just EXISTS at that level. (Longevity is one of Endeavor’s biggest weaknesses) So Endeavor benefits substantially more by resting because it’s the only way he can muster the strength to get close to that level again. (And Gran Torino clearly recognizes this letting Endeavor rest) Shigaraki finally unveils a bit about the past that Gran Torino and All-Might within OFA’s inner circle searched to find while the rest of the cast has been oblivious. Him talking about ANYTHING in that house, that rejection on the streets leading up to AFO finding him, is SO much information that could be useful as thousands of heroes likely only a few miles from him work tirelessly to save lives, Uraraka helping crying children trying to get them to smile, and going the extra mile. It’s not a show to them. Not here anyways. And just to add insult to injury even when he says his reasonings, Endeavor simply tries to put him out of his misery. Like you won’t be allowed to see the good that comes of our actions. Another rejection. (Also Shigaraki has REALLY improved the speech of carnage from Season 1 he was coached to say by AFO. Good speech. Kudos and applause.) Shigaraki just jumps RIGHT THROUGH IT, he may be cracking but he’s still got ALL the power he needs. Gran Torino does a police pin from behind knowing Endeavor has done practically all he can, and Gran Torino’s description of Shigaraki is the same as his description of All-Might after he deflates to the public for the 1st time. Throw out the limits, just go all out. Gran Torino can’t escape and looks at the product of their efforts to save Nana’s child in the eye. A bitter, furious, destruction fueled monster…that came from the same line as one of the most loving heroes in history. He hears the resentment down generations and knows it was taken out on this kid. A choice that had no good answers. Nana had already lost her husband to villains and Nana having a son on records as she both pursued and ran from AFO, it was the only thing that made sense. She can’t have her child, her family, her LIFE so long as she holds OFA. And AFO went out of his way to do what she feared ANYWAYS. Mocking every effort she ever made to save those she cared about. It’s too much. The consequences catch up, and like the old saying goes “History Repeats Itself.” Shigaraki promptly does what AFO did to All-Might in the hidden 1st fight when the full power of AFO and OFA collided most recently. The bloody history Gran Torino and All-Might have worked tirelessly to keep Deku oblivious of. OFA feels like a curse rather than a blessing right about now. Deku and Bakugo can’t catch Shigaraki as he goes for Eraser Head again. And only getting stuck between Ryukyu’s dragon claws, Deku’s Blackwhip almost entirely binding him, Deku trying to garner anger into power and Endeavor going for a cheap shot. (I know it’s not actually) Trying to stop this dream from coming true. Stopping every last attempt as they warn of everything he does. Garnering power like a villain. Shigaraki shoves his hand clean through Ryukyu’s and takes aim with a quirk deleter. Unseen in anime, but he takes out two and Bakugo destroys the other before he can use it on I’m guessing Ryukyu or possibly Endeavor. Deku the MOMENT he hear’s quirk deleter knows there’s no avoiding it. He has to break his arm to stop him. And we are reminded YET AGAIN as far as Deku has come, he simply doesn’t have the same power of his predecessor. There’s a bit of censoring here, Deku actually breaks Shigaraki’s jaw and knocks out his teeth, but considering the damage we’ve seen him take ALREADY, that result might only have happened simply from Endeavor’s fire blasts making his body more fragile. In anime? Shigaraki freaking catches the 100% punch in his teeth. Either way. He just TANKS it, dreams like a hero garnering power from his origin, and flicks his fingers to launch the deleter…and hits his target, in the ultimate mockery as Aizawa got hit pushing Manual and Rocklock out of the way. And that’s a CLIFFHANGER as we are left with not one but TWO worst case scenario’s.

What you need to realize is that All Might was the only user to benefit from the Stockpile part of the quirk The rest of the user only got a minor boost to their OG quirks so in her case float allowed her to fly

Ok I think this is my 2nd to last character profile. I won’t make another this season. Same grades, same classes, same structure I did in season 5. I left the episode analysis separate. Machia (either his real name or name completely unknown) Villain Name: Gigantomachia Quirks: 1. Endurance (Morale into energy, Machia’s original quirk. Another willpower based quirk.) 2. Gigantification (Grows in combat) 3. Fierce Gains (Rock hard muscles. Literal rocks) 4. Energy Saver (I have no idea what this does) 5. Pain Blocker (it MIGHT block out pain) 6. Dog (heightened sense of smell and auditory) 7. Mole (the big battle mode he goes into with the claws, mask, and it’s meant for digging…which is not what he used it for) Grade: S Class: Symbol (yes that somehow includes the stealth villain class and the espionage villain class on THIS guy) FINALLY can talk about Machia. AFO’s Rook. God the sheer amount of chaos caused by Shigaraki saying he wanted to castle his pieces. Machia’s full strength is VERY difficult to guage, but I would argue of EVERYTHING we’ve seen, Machia is the most dangerous thing across EVERYTHING in this war. A LOT of things are faster than Machia, but that REALLY doesn’t matter too much and Shigaraki has spent this battle learning how to use his new quirks and body while Machia is fully comfortable battling for…checking my notes…44 HOURS 44 MINUTES, ONLY NEEDS 2 HOURS OF REST, AND CAN CONTINUE FOR OVER A MONTH, AND HE HELD BACK THAT ENTIRE TIME TO NOT KILL SHIGARAKI OR THE LEAGUE AND WOKE UP EARLY TO STILL OVERPOWER THE ENTIRE LIBERATION ARMY WITH ZERO EFFORT. He has NO SUCH CARE RIGHT NOW. And he’s….fully rested. Some might say well we’ve seen other characters do big collateral before. What makes Machia different? So to counter that I ask, how much does your breath scale to your full force punching? Say someone like Endeavor, he can cause a huge area attack and light an entire battlefield on fire. Machia EXHALES a similar range knocking people completely off their feet and hanging onto trees for dear life. That is a DEKU LEVEL WIND BLAST FROM EXHALING, and the closest we saw to that was Deku controlling 20% and learning about the weaponizing wind pressure for the 1st time in season 4. (At that time about Mach 1.2) And he covered MORE space and with MORE force than Deku’s full force 20% kick with just LUNG CAPACITY. (Nearly everyone scales very nicely to Deku’s 20% in the AvB matches even though he can outperform everyone somehow someway with his performance feats in that arc, and Machia’s exhaling overwhelms ALL OF THEM SIMULTANEOUSLY) So what does that say about the REST of Machia’s body functions? Every movement he makes is a natural disaster regardless of speed. The ground HEAVES when he stomps, shockwaves can erupt from his casual arm swings, and his voice shakes EVERYTHING. And let’s not forget the scene that he left behind when he escaped Gran Torino. I seem to recall a massive CHASM where a MOUNTAIN was. He blew up a MOUNTAIN. With what we’ve seen Deku, All-Might, and AFO do across this show…I think it’s only fair I scale him to the prime of AFO and OFA. Because this is RIDICULOUS. I brought up based on the timing of AFO hiding Machia away and not contacting him after he was injured by All-Might, AFO possibly could have feared Machia being hard to control if he was confirmed or deemed weaker than his rook. Machia listens to strength and while it’s ridiculous AFO even needed a bodyguard in the 1st place, him acknowledging Machia as such speaks volumes in of itself. AFO would never allow something stronger than him to exist, so let’s say he’s like 30-50% of the full strength of AFO. This is a sheer ballpark but either way he’s doing just WAY too much with absolutely MINIMAL amounts of effort. Theres just NO CHANCE he scales to even the fully awakened full power High Ends either. They are BENEATH him. This is where things get into a “Superman is faster than a speeding bullet” scenario. Of COURSE he can 1 hand heave Mount Lady like she’s nothing, of course he can just handle mass amounts of cannon fire at once, the only reason I wholeheartedly think Kirishima did NOT die here today is because the ground protected him cushioning the full hit. (If someone can make a Wile E Coyote crater for Kirishima that would be fantastic to see) He likely would’ve been MORE likely to end Kirishima with 1 clawed finger than palm of his hand. Nothing demonstrated here is crazier than him literally doing the BUTTERFLY SWIM STROKE through Deika City and 100,000 trained villains realizing in less than 10 seconds of encountering him, all knew they had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. 100,000 superpowers, buffs, effects, possible combinations and there wasn’t ONE option. The heroes had ZERO plans for Machia being awake because nothing in their ranks had what they needed for him if he was awake. Look at what Shigaraki is handling NO QUIRKS, that’s just not even close to what Machia handled in Deika. Everything we are seeing in this season is EFFORTLESS from what we know he did in season 5 AND his short appearance in season 4. He swallowed the tranquilizer, and YES his body technically has human body rules but they are all but entirely unseen. Walking disaster, the walking calamity, take your pick. This thing is a genuine monster. There’s only one profile left I want to make. And I think it’s safe to assume who it will belong to when the time comes.

@@Kleed44 that’s a good guess, but Dabi is such an important topic later that I can talk about his feats and such a LOT. I already made one for him in season 5 as well. I considered a character that appears in the next arc, but I think she just sits nicely to talk about with no profile. The character I settled on to finish off the profiles is in a similar circumstance as the person I decided not to make a profile for. I hope I’m both vague enough where the blind don’t know what I’m talking about but giving enough clues to tell you who it is.

The time for empathy was not at that time. When a psychopath is trying to destroy the world, it isn’t necessarily going to be solved with a little peptalk, regardless of how relevant endeavor’s situation was. Empathy doesn’t solve all problems, especially in the middle of such a catastrophically dangerous situation.

Ok I would say pretty much this point forward, this season just never backs down. Everything in this season is outstanding but this forward to me gears everything up even MORE. (Splitting the Machia fight and the Shigaraki fight and I think this is my final character profile I’ll have separate too. At the very least for a LONG time. This is just the Machia fight) So practically EVERYTHING in this episode is the big Machia fight and I just have to give Momo a THOUSAND kudos for her split second decision making and helping organize EVERYONE with their materials, quirks, traps, counter traps, and coming up with almost EVERYTHING. She did this in SECONDS. And she couldn’t think in time for how she wanted to make use of her defense OR offense against Dark Shadow. What a leadership journey SHE has been under. There’s 30 kids here combining their quirks in every single way they can find for every inch they can crawl against such an opponent. All to administer a tranquilizer dose the SIZE OF A FULL CAMPING WATER BOTTLE, and they are doing it ORALLY. Meaning they need to get near THIS monstrosity’s MOUTH. This is such a terrifying set up. From Honenuki’s deep pitfalls the kids might accidentally fall in themselves, Mineta preparing his snare which I seem to recall Mina being sure it wasn’t going to work in the AvB match. Momo throwing restraint to the wind and using all the lipids she has available. From one time use explosives, and a new model of cannon which I assume is the biggest firepower she can make physically, and know legally. (Then it gets into classified documents and a HUGE amount of paperwork to get CLOSE to it.) I can’t even imagine how it must feel even when he DOES step in the muck and slides up to them, and YOU’RE ONLY A LITTLE TALLER THAN HIS TEETH. That is just HORRIFYING. And the only pro on the scene being Mount Lady just let go. Now it’s just throw EVERYTHING they have effective or not at this behemoth. You might have Shishida, Kendo, and Sato trying to brute force his jaw open with Mineta’s pop off on his chin, but Machia is literally over DOUBLE the size of a T-Rex with a bite force of 63,500 newtons or about 12,800 lbs. And we find that as useful and varied their quirks are, Machia is just a CONSISTENT exception. Shiozaki’s vines are one of the most powerful quirks in Class B and all he does is flex his NECK and he breaks through over 40 wrap arounds. (Sero is impressive but we’ve never see him bury his tape underground on a concrete stage effortlessly for a long range attack from across about a soccer field in distance) I love the other little plans going around to apprehend the other villains too. And you can TELL when a plan is not Momo’s. I don’t know what Reiko Yanagi’s grades are but I’m going to assume she’s not doing the best if her plan is to just throw Kaminari at the nation’s most wanted list unprotected regardless of how powerful HIS quirk is. (Even giving her the benefit of the doubt it’s Kaminari’s plan, she went along with it.) Shoji using Aoyama as his personal cannon is AMAZING but also REALLY brute forcing against the League. And can way too easily backfire with Toga, Compress, and ESPECIALLY Dabi there. (Though it’s a super neat touch to have Compress visibly LEAP out of the way out of Aoyama’s laser because last time Aoyama blasted his face.) Jiro trying to sneak up on Dabi but I almost want to say they may have been weary of her at the camp attack because I don’t think her jacks stretching actually makes a noise, but he was READY for something behind him. But it simply doesn’t work out. The kids can’t get anything meaningful on the villains, and Machia’s big counter to the tranquilizer bottles? EXHALING. He is knocking people off their feet by EXHALING. And Dabi combining that with his fire? Yeah now you have a raging forest fire. BLUE FIRE. And Machia just wipes off Mineta’s pop off from his chin, you know, the balls that an only 2 strands can stop a COLLAPSING BRIDGE, and he’s on his feet. Dabi lists off a few of his quirks, but today is the day I’ll cover all of them in his profile now that all 7 have definitely been demonstrated as of this episode. Only upside is Dabi doesn’t seem to have too much energy left after fighting Hawks too. He’d have to get REALLY worked up to be more active. That would be a hell of a fire to put out. The kids move to plan B by knocking him deeper into the mud pit and Mount Lady is DONE being dragged along and is going to do everything she can to support the kid’s plans whether she knows the plan or not. (No more concern of her looking bad, she just wants to help!) She also somehow doesn’t crush ANY of the league members…OR the extra heroes backing up the kids now. And Mina takes her opening and now has a wide open shot on Machia. But of course it STILL can’t be that easy as this isn’t the 1st time Mina has met Machia. And she is now realizing the giant villain that stood before her threatening to topple a building on children…is now this abomination that can destroy EVERYTHING. She forgets she’s a hero, forgets she has an opening, forgets every opportunity that she’s used to stand before him…and she’s in middle school again with nothing to get him away from her friends. And throws like she’s never even tried to throw a thing in her life. And because she does that, Mount Lady gets thrown aside with what I assume is a cracked skull as he grabs and throws her by the head, and goes to crush what he considers to be a fly right in front of him. Kirishima MIRACULOUSLY intercepting the hit AND surviving the blow. It’s REALLY hard to tell exactly what happened, but I brought up when it comes to extreme durability, there’s a point that not only does the durability of the character matter, but so does the surface they are knocked into for them to get damaged. Kirishima and Machia are both at least DOZENS of times more durable than the earth they run on, so it acted as more of a cushion than something to get crushed against. Or an ant you step on, but your foot shape lands in a way that doesn’t land on the ant because your foot isn’t fully flat. (Either way, Kirishima has a Wile E Coyote crater DOUBTLESSLY underneath Machia’s hand.) But it’s FINALLY enough. Kirishima took Tetsu’s advice and trained in the elements til he was better in fire than his steel. (Steel’s melting point is often at highest 2,800°F and Carbon SUBLIMATES at 3900°K with no official melting point. Sublimation is solid straight to gas. And while I actually think Dabi can reach that temp, he can’t while gassed out like he currently is.) Kirishima climbs Machia’s leg, makes his opening by distracting Toga and WE FINALLY get a tranquilizer dose in Machia’s mouth as the kids just barrage Machia with everything they got left with another new wave of heroes courtesy of Majestic. (And the 1st appearance of You Say Run since the 1st movie!) And even with ALL of that. Machia just stands RIGHT back up, completely realligns his muscles, grows claws, puts on a face mask from his chin, and they are out of ammo. Machia just…stopped EVERYTHING. And we just have to sit in suspense as we cut to the Shigaraki field.

I'm actually kinda annoyed that Mina didn't get her moment here. I know, it's stupid. Her freezing up cause of her experience with Machia makes total sense, but she's always been one of my favorite characters, and it stinks that she got her thunder stolen by someone who's had plenty of other moments, even if it was to save her. (Still love Kirishima, of course)

Especially that they let her get TOO close to getting to the goal. It's not ideal. Thankfully they do still make use of that which is awesome.

Now that I think about it, this is the first time most of this class has encountered the League of Villains since the summer camp in season three, isn't it? And once again, in a forest. I low-key agree that it was Kaminari's plan, not Emilee's. Not only was it a fairly hair-brained strategy (no offense, Denki), but he was launched immediately AFTER Jiro was injured by Dabi. Coincidence? I think NOT!!

I get what you mean, perhaps Endeavour could have reflected more on what was said. However, I would think Shigaraki would not be receptive to empathy or conversation. Especially due to how AFO groomed him. Plus Endeavour understanding him doesn't change his perceived issue at the root of society. He sees it as fully corrupted, it has flaws but not as entirely worthless as he sees it. Endeavour, as he is, doesn't have that luxury to try. He is considering the lives of the people that are weaker than and depending on him while he self-admits he's not strong enough alone to ensure that safety. And Shiggy just wiped out a city. Is it ideal that they talk it out, sure, I most definitely think so. Endeavour can't ensure that conversation, and their safety or guarantee a peaceful resolution. All that said, I don't think he is one to consider that but, at this point, no one there, even Deku, is willing to. It's clearer in the manga but Deku wanted to put out if commission to kill Shigaraki. God Bless

I ADORE Kirishima. He has always been one of my favorite characters, and he's gonna be a great Pro one day . . . . . . But did he HAVE to steal Mina's thunder like that, even if it was to save her life? He's had plenty of moments already, and I LOVE Mina, so I wish she'd gotten her time to shine this episode. 😕 (Yes, I completely get why she would freeze up, and yes, I have seen season seven.)

He didn’t steal her thunder at all. It’s thanks to his actions that Mina is alive and that Machia was brought down at all. That was a team effort and he saw her falter and Machia “wake up”, that’s when he let his body make the decisions necessary to save everyone

Endeavor has questioned a LOT about himself recently but never really questioned his hero role other than thinking if he wants to be a symbol. No question of the profession to its entirety. It’s just a benefit to civilians as a whole. Really helps Deku be a better hero honestly.

Not gonna lie that "Endeavor is a great Hero -1" pop up is very annoying like he said he needed a breather that's why he let Shigaraki monologue because his body overheats and deteriorates why does everyone seem to forget that like think about it really think about it he's fought multiple low level Nomu, the 4 High-Ends, escaped the decay wave, and has whittling down Shigaraki's defenses this entire time both WITH Quirks AND without them as he chased him across a giant city sized decay crater, Endeavor is obviously reaching the limits of his power by this point.

The number of reactors I've seen who complain, "why is he just standing around doing nothing." is too high. I get that this season is so action-packed but apparently, it made people forget that quirks have limitations and need time to regenerate, heal, etc. Otherwise, if characters could just fight nonstop without needing to recuperate they could have defeated him by now (before making it to 7 seasons so far).

I don’t think it’s calling that a bad hero move because he waited to attack. Kenny and Montana are some of the few people I haven’t seen complain about that. The reason for the pop up is that Endeavor saw Shigaraki explaining this whole philosophy about how “this is the corruption in hero society that created me” and Endeavor immediately ignored that and blasts him in the face.

This is a response to Kenny's comments from the 2nd question that was asked, connecting it to Endeavor; I completely understand where you're coming from the perspective of that Endeavor should've given a better response to Shigaraki because he is literally putting a mirror in front of his face and he should contemplate what Shigaraki actually said. However, I would like to make 2 points against this. 1) Shigaraki is literally right in from of him and he's killed so many people. He cannot take any chances in giving him time to recuperate. 2) This is Endeavor we are talking about. Although improving on it, the man has a temper and so isn't the kind of person to be listening to his enemy, especially during this crucial point in the fight. PS, not saying this as an Endeavor fan, just giving a different viewpoint of the conversation.
