before anyone else makes any dumb comments this was at a "rehab and release" facility. also if anyone was horrible enough to actually willingly buy a spider monkey baby as a pet they are pretty much supporting the gradual extinction of the species.

Actually, that's not a penis. Female spider monkeys have a pendulous, hypertrophied clitoris that is much larger than the flaccid penis of the male, and is present at birth. The penis on our male Chiquito is not visible at all, but Lolita's "privates" are always very public!

This Monkey is lovely, wanting to be tickled and to play, my youngest daughter would love her as a pet, no doubt, she would carry the monkey around like a doll !!!

+poison ivy That would be a very bad idea...they do bite even as babies...and though some people successfully make them into pets more or less they are definitely not animals to have around small children..not unless one has A LOT of experience with primates..besides...they require 24/7 care and the same, if not more, amount of attention that a human infant does...you cannot just sit them in a cage to run to the store or out to dinner...not if you want one that develops normally. You cannot pay the amount of attention it would require and that your own child requires and keep every body happy..they often are jealous of their "owners" small children and will definitely decide that you belong to them and that your child has no place in the relationship..then you are in for trouble....all primates live under hierarchy and are constantly looking for their place and everyone else in your family's place in that hierarchy...the will eventually look to raise their status and they will pick the smallest, most vulnerable person (or animal--cats or dogs for example) and start their campaign with them..it will start as a pinch, slap or bite and when the child or animal shows weakness it will only escalate after that because they are constantly reinforcing their place and yours in the hierarchy!! It really is a no win deal if you have children, for the kids, you and most definitely for the primate! This is why once they pass that cute baby stage so many of them find themselves packed off to a new place to live (which devestates them and they are never the same again after being removed from yet another mother and family...it is way too sad)

TmarTn mart Do none of you ever read the description before you start becoming experts on monkeys..especially when I am quite sure you have NO hands on experience with them (because if you did then "one day it will bite you" wouldnt be what you would say...so try reading before you start informing people please.

That's not giggling. That's talking. If you're that ignorant in the correct treatment and care of wild animals you shouldn't have one, and definitely not as a pet. Secondary to that, why is it not with its mother? You appear to be one of thousands who snatch babies from their mothers and treat them like children. You're setting yourself up for a nasty shock when the baby becomes an aggressive adult who will consider you a threat. Take the baby back to its troop and grow a set while you're at it.
@bigfella756910 жыл бұрын
and the uploader is "spidermonkeyrehab" so I'm guessing it can't be with it's troop for some reason. Although I do question why it's name is Lolita when it clearly had a penis.

She is not a pet. We have a wildlife rehabilitation center in Costa Rica. She was orphaned and has been with us for three years, but will be released back into the wild in the Osa Peninsula shortly. The males do become aggressive when they reach sexual maturity, but the females do not. And just for the record, you are wrong on every count...that sound is giggling.

@PrimateProductions9 жыл бұрын
Hey dumbass, can you not read? She said as clearly as possible in the description that this was at a rehabilitation center..not a personal pet...and you have no clue what you are talking about regarding..well..pretty much everything you said..maybe do some research before you start telling the people that actually have hands on experience that they are wrong..

Stop it. It's not a human baby. He would run away if it was bothered. It's grabbing on the way kittens will
