Copped the uber eats delivery bag and I've been off to the races almost made 100 in the last two days. I can roi the bike in 8 more days. @@JonSudlowpc Lit! Have your rode up any hills with it? My main concern is the single speed - I have a good amount of hills in my area. Also from your experience, how's the range?
@JonSudlowpc2 жыл бұрын
@@maksymvinyarskyy2813 It's relatively flat where I live. The mission can climb hills with you peddling and it's really not that bad but the hills are not like san francisco hills they are a lot gentler. If you have steep big hills then I would recommend their more powerful motors like the 750 watt ones. If you keep it in peddle assist mode 2-3 you can truly get 40+ miles per charge - the range has not been an issue!

Obviously this will be an area by area basis, but how worried are you usually about someone trying to rob you for your bike or equipment etc.... Do you know anyone in the community who has had this happen? Also do you think delivery cyclers are targeted more by this sort of thing, or do you think the risk is the same as if you just went out for a walk or cycle for leisure? I am personally not really concerned with this, but I thought it would be best to ask the opinions of people who actually do the job rather than assume what they think.

In the UK and Europe we don't have access to this information until we collect the order. In the US they can see the fare amount, drop off location and customer tip before even accepting the order. It's just a matter of time before we get access to this. In regards to the food cooling down, I wouldn't worry too much about this! Obviously it's great to deliver hot food but it's not always possible and customers understand that food can get cold in transit. Even with car drivers the food gets cold. I suggest buying a smaller thermal bag to put inside your larger thermal backpack to keep the food warmer 👍🏽

Do you have to keep messaging the customer or does the app tell the customer everything? I know deliveroo the customer gets a map to see where you are in real time. Deliveroo I rarely have to contact the customer unless I really need to. Due to the map a lot of customers wait for me outside. However I will say messaging or calling the customer especially uni orders is a big help as it prompts them to wait for u outside or to give you clear indication of exactly which block they are in. When helping my friend out in the car I’ll do all the calls etc while he drives. Over the festive period we’d wear Santa hats, staple a little merry Christmas note to the order. It helped with getting tips lol 😂

i just bought a cargo ebike and i think id kinda fancy doing this. I dont need to earn a ton - can you just set aside a few days a week to do it without offer consequences? The only thing that would really concern me is delivering to blocks of flats and just hoping the bike is still there when you get back

My bike was designed by my dad like 7 years ago and is still going strong. Literally super proud to ride it. My dad has an electric bike shop - you can email me my email is in the description and I can help you figure that out. 100% electric bike because it's faster and more enjoyable = more money ;)

I just got an e-scooter for fun, but thinking to make some cash on the side. you video was helpful. my question is, since I am in the city downtown core. if I just want local short delivery, can I set this up? also from your video, was not clear, when I accept an order, do I know ahead of time how far away it is? I also like your bag, where did you get it?
@GigHustle2 жыл бұрын
You can just reject orders that are far away or take you away from your area. There has been an update where you can see a map with the drop off location so you can estimate how long it will take. This video will help kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5mxgWpuYtt_qqc It's not easy to get my back unfortunately...it's provided by the courier company Stuart but you need to work for them.

Hi Jayesh, I never thought watching someone show how to do a food delivery would be so interesting. liked the way you made this entire video. this makes me think to do some food deliveries lol. I am in india so the pay here isnt that great. but i may be coming to the UK for higher studies and i think doing this can make me some extra dough. do you have any info on if they allow foreign students to do food deliveries?
@GigHustle3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ammar I never thought I would be doing this but I saw an opportunity because people were so engaged in these types of videos! I think we are moving into a new era where we can watch someone and feel like we are there with them so this is very powerful! Yes the pay in India isn’t the best from what I’ve heard. I don’t think overseas students are allowed to do this because it’s self-employed work! However I see plenty of overseas students working on Deliveroo haha 😂

When you message the customer before collecting the food you should also ask them to confirm delivery address. I do this. Obviously not all customers will reply. But if it's a very difficult journey (3 miles+ or all uphill) then you have the option to cancel. Obviously you do not have to do this with Deliveroo. BTW in Canada and America I believe Uber Eats shows delivery addresses to drivers when the order is offered. I'm hoping this will eventually be rolled out in the UK. Is your bike electric?
@GigHustle4 жыл бұрын
My bike is electric! I have a video on my channel showing which one I use :) Yes that is a very good idea! Only problem like you said is that most customers don't reply, but it''s worth having a pre-made message ready to copy and paste to the customer. I think I prefer just to prioritise Deliveroo over Uber because it will take time to contact the customer and wait for a reply from them. In the time it takes to get a response from the customer I would probably get an order from Deliveroo haha. In North America, Australia and New Zealand they can see the drop off location, from what I understand they are testing this out in a few cities in the UK! I hope this feature is available soon!!
@wozyh4 жыл бұрын
@@GigHustle Yes I also prioritise Deliveroo over Uber Eats because I know the customers location. If Deliveroo is quiet I will accept orders from Uber Eats and attempt to get the delivery location. Orders from Subway, Mcdonalds and KFC are usually only short distance, so it isn't a big deal whether the customer replies to the message. It's usually the independent restaurants and takeaways where u can be sent really far and into locations that are all up hill. When sending messages I usually type the message in at the start of the shift then copy it so it can be pasted into later messages. I might look at downloading the app you mention in the video to make things easier. That is brilliant to hear Uber Eats are trialing the delivery location in some UK cities. Where did you hear this? I hope it is accurate information.
@GigHustle4 жыл бұрын
@@wozyh I've heard this from other couriers in different cities. I actually have been shown the drop off location a few times. This is usually when Uber is desperate for a rider/driver, they will show you the drop off and earnings. So I definitely know they are testing it out, I just don't know when they will make it available to everyone for every order. It will happen eventually!
@wozyh4 жыл бұрын
@@GigHustle Ah cool, personally they have never shown me a delivery location. I think in general they may have held back rolling it out due to worries about people cherry picking orders. But obviously Deliveroo and Stuart still do it. Look forward to it been brought in properly throughout the UK. I work in Leeds and barely any of the experienced cyclists (albeit myself) will work for Uber Eats, due to not knowing the drop off address. There is a lot of people who sign up with Uber Eats but then pack it in due to the far distances and its unpredictability. It can be particularly tough if you don't have a good bike and the relevant clothing and equipment. I have a reasonably fast hybrid bike with lots of modifications and upgrades so I can stay out and keep riding for a long time without becoming fatigued. My targeted Uber Eats earnings were £100 per shift, which took around 24 deliveries and usually between 7-9 hours. Im still earning this atm, but the earnings are split between Uber and Deliveroo. I've only been signed up with Deliveroo for around 4 months. Been with Uber Eats for nearly 3 years.
@GigHustle4 жыл бұрын
@@wozyh That is good that you have a decent setup, it really helps! It can get quite tiring after 6 hours of riding on an electric bike. I would say I'm pretty fit but I still feel it in my legs haha. Uber sent me 14 miles away and then didn't pay me properly, so I don't trust them as much as I trust Stuart and Deliveroo.
