@LemonSteak You raise a good point! Although, I believe these characteristics ARE rewarded, just in the shadows away from the big tech giants/social-media. A bit like higher quality clothing, the branding is quieter, but the quality/craft/retail-experience is significantly worth quietly coming back for. These contract companies got runners by the balls. I have ran over 1200 Uber deliveries and they have never once provided me with shit lol. Bought my own cooler and ice packs to keep stuff cold and I bought a few thermal bags to keep stuff warm. I take extra care of all my packages and get them there as quick as possible. My reward when I hit a thousand deliveries? A thank you message from the uber app. Boy oh boy do I feel appreciated! Luckily, anytime I'm feeling down I happen to drop off to a customer who is super duper nice and even tries to meet me at a human level, even if just for a moment. It brightens up my day immensely and it always seem to come at the right time. Out of all of my deliveries I've only had a handful of bad experiences with customers, maybe 3-4. Actually, the population would need a sharp decrease in order for the cost of living to go down. Many Western countries are becoming overpopulated thanks to mass immigration from strictly third world countries that have significantly higher populations. Importing them to many major cities in the West has backfired. Higher population = higher cost of living. Lower population = lower cost of living. We are over 8 billion now. The more people that come to the West, the higher the cost of living will be..

I think they updated their rules etc to pay more. I did this in 2019 driving in Australia (I’m Englishman) and I made about $70 for the week but put in more than $100 of fuel to do so. It’s not worth it. Uber need to pay more. They suck you in with the first delivery usually paying you close to the maximum for the trip (here in Australia is about $11) then they drop off if you are lucky enough to get the next job before somebody else gets the job. So you gradually drop in pays each job until you reach about $2-3 each job if you are lucky. What sucks more is Uber take a big cut out of the delivery service but don’t tend to share that with the ones ACTUALLY doing the work.

I remember watching your vids almost a year ago rates were a bit higher do you think the amount of riders bringing price down?

I've delivered via ebike before, bosch motor/battery on turbo w/85 ft lbs of torque, can only ride for an hour and do 2-3 deliveries. I'm plenty strong enough but range is still a problem with ebikes unfortunately, when the battery dies then I'm pedaling a 55lb bike and that's no fun!

I take my hat off to you and anyone that does this! During the Christmas period you have a good chance of making £100+ in less than 7 hour's (£164.98 in 6 and half on new year's day 2024 for me) but any other time of year you got to be doing around 9-12 hours just to make £100 at least where I live. Not to forget you need take off your fuel if your using a car and tax and your working for £60 or there abouts. For you to be starting at 6am and still get around 7-8 hours in for £100, on your bike and freezing cold I bloody salute you!

I live first floor of a really small nice block of flats. I'd say the rate the uber drives actually come inside the building is about 20%. 4/5 times they ask me to come down and out.
