I agree and hope he really will be wealthy one day; he may be successful already. Although, I do not think such characteristics are rewarded that way anymore. It has become a standard that no company even appreciates.

 @LemonSteak You raise a good point! Although, I believe these characteristics ARE rewarded, just in the shadows away from the big tech giants/social-media. A bit like higher quality clothing, the branding is quieter, but the quality/craft/retail-experience is significantly worth quietly coming back for. Basically, LondonEats needs to get on Dragons Den and launch a boujie delivery company for customers who want their hot lunch to be hot when it arrives.

So much respect for you investing in a hot box to keep the food as hot as possible. I understand you probably did it because you're on a bike, but I think that even someone in a car should make the same investment. It just seems like the responsible and professional thing to do. If someone is going to do it, they should do it as best they can. You seem to take pride in what you're doing, and that's very encouraging.

These contract companies got runners by the balls. I have ran over 1200 Uber deliveries and they have never once provided me with shit lol. Bought my own cooler and ice packs to keep stuff cold and I bought a few thermal bags to keep stuff warm. I take extra care of all my packages and get them there as quick as possible. My reward when I hit a thousand deliveries? A thank you message from the uber app. Boy oh boy do I feel appreciated! Luckily, anytime I'm feeling down I happen to drop off to a customer who is super duper nice and even tries to meet me at a human level, even if just for a moment. It brightens up my day immensely and it always seem to come at the right time. Out of all of my deliveries I've only had a handful of bad experiences with customers, maybe 3-4. So I have hope for the human race 😀🙏

When I did Doordash, they provided me with one insulated bag. I always used it and brought my own just in case the order was big. I've seen people never use them and just place the bags in the seat with the AC blowing on it. Really unprofessional.

@ditherdather 10 ай бұрын
@@Thincrust128 That's awful. It's one thing to do it with your own food, but something else entirely to do with someone else's. Especially when they're paying a person to deliver it hot and fresh (as possible). I'm just one guy. By the time I pay for delivery, fees, and a tip, it sometimes doubles the price of my dinner. It infuriates me to pay $25 for old and cold fast food, when it doesn't have to be that way.

I saw a video showing how these meal delivery businesses are operating at a loss, could be why they are cutting pay. Think it said initially they subsidised the orders for the customers so it would get super popular and now they're having to figure out how to close the gap. I also heard it's common for startups to operate at a loss on purpose to begin with so they can grow fast and avoid paying tax. Glad you have this channel for your income.

Oh my and what a great delivery driver he is. In America the drivers are now refusing to go up to the apartments to hand the food to the customer. Even if you order from hotels, they fuss about going on & are now asking the customer to come down and fetch their foodstuffs. Ugh!!!!! They're so lazy here, but still expect to tipped 30% or more.

I'm just new to your channel, what I've watched I've liked, I sometimes panic when you've left your bike outside thinking someone is going to nick it, but thankfully it hasn't happened, I feel for you when your getting soaked and doing a delivery for £3.50, this is Choppy in Whitehaven, Cumbria, England

Personal budgeting expert here. If you people knew what I knew, you would know just how right he is at 10:40. Either lower living costs or increase pay, but pick one or both. And that's as much true for us in the states as it is for you Londoners. For example, I live in Vancouver, WA and get paid almost $20/hr (15.55 pounds). I would have to work 120hrs a week to afford the average studio/one-bedroom apartment here.

Actually, the population would need a sharp decrease in order for the cost of living to go down. Many Western countries are becoming overpopulated thanks to mass immigration from strictly third world countries that have significantly higher populations. Importing them to many major cities in the West has backfired. Higher population = higher cost of living. Lower population = lower cost of living. We are over 8 billion now. The more people that come to the West, the higher the cost of living will be..

How are you a personal budgeting expert and also working a slapdick job thats only making $3200 a month off of (before taxes, since you are an expert, of course). You are not to be trusted. Work on your bullshit artist skills a bit more and come back when you did.

And you're saying that you need $9600 to afford a studio apartment? Nope. Not even in New York. I knew you were lying before. Now I'm thinking that you would try to convince someone the sky is yellow if it was advantageous to you in some way.

I did gig work a few years ago during the pandemic and it was great but the pay has gone downhill since then and I can’t justify the expense and wear on my vehicle. It’s bad. Hopefully things change. It was fun while it lasted. $20-$30 a delivery was nice. Now it’s like $5-$7 👎 people are spending more on the food and do not want to tip anymore.

I think they updated their rules etc to pay more. I did this in 2019 driving in Australia (I’m Englishman) and I made about $70 for the week but put in more than $100 of fuel to do so. It’s not worth it. Uber need to pay more. They suck you in with the first delivery usually paying you close to the maximum for the trip (here in Australia is about $11) then they drop off if you are lucky enough to get the next job before somebody else gets the job. So you gradually drop in pays each job until you reach about $2-3 each job if you are lucky. What sucks more is Uber take a big cut out of the delivery service but don’t tend to share that with the ones ACTUALLY doing the work.

I've delivered via ebike before, bosch motor/battery on turbo w/85 ft lbs of torque, can only ride for an hour and do 2-3 deliveries. I'm plenty strong enough but range is still a problem with ebikes unfortunately, when the battery dies then I'm pedaling a 55lb bike and that's no fun!

I take my hat off to you and anyone that does this! During the Christmas period you have a good chance of making £100+ in less than 7 hour's (£164.98 in 6 and half on new year's day 2024 for me) but any other time of year you got to be doing around 9-12 hours just to make £100 at least where I live. Not to forget you need take off your fuel if your using a car and tax and your working for £60 or there abouts. For you to be starting at 6am and still get around 7-8 hours in for £100, on your bike and freezing cold I bloody salute you!
