I LOOOVE your reaction! I've just heard Gigi DL recently, and I'm a fan. Her jazzy raspy vocal is A-mazing. Yes Schnell, she is truly an amazing performer. I fell in love with her the first time i tuned to her channel. Silky and raspy voice are now the words, when i was young i remember my parents call such voice husky reminiscent of tina turner. So much skill, so much power and class , i really think if things go well her way she is going to be the next one. I dont know whats wrong with the entertainment world, artists like this ought to be performing in the worlds big stages. She’s also embarking on her first leading role as an actress - in a romantic-comedy series called HELLO HEART exclusive viewing from iQIYI international streaming service (premiers December 15). Story line is about a girl of humble circumstance who was hired by an ultra rich business man as a caregiver for his grandmother suffering with dementia… who for some reason, mistook Gigi as her grandson’s estranged wife. They were forced to go along with the premise in order to appease the employer’s ailing grandmother. This is probably more than what you were seeking to answer your curiosity about the Filipino singing culture. But the plot in this up and coming mini-series is actually perfect to give you a better glimpse as to what makes the country tick… that produces so many talented singers.
