The figure looks great, the packaging especially helps sell this. That being said, yes I know Joe gets wacky and I’m fine with that, but I’ve only recently warmed up to Cobra-La thanks to the excellent Dark Energon comics. I might get this, but he seems to only make sense if you already have Mindbender, Serpentor and are going for Nemesis Immortal.

Good review. The packaging is great, that’s for sure. Cobra La isn’t my thing BUT this does look cool and I like how the Classified line is making figures for everyone from the early 80s to the 90s, etc. I’m trying to get everything so I’m hoping to secure this one, maybe on August 5th!

Always loved that movie and would watch it in parts before school when it would come on the USA channel. That Cobra Commander came out great. Just wished his pants were torn up and have one leg at be snake like but its still cool to me.

I'm digging the lenticular box ,that is awesome....what hologram are you talking about I couldn't see it ? Hope this figure won't be too difficult to get once they are sold on hasbro pulse. I'm hoping Hasbro sells the Royal guards in a set of three or two for those who like to army build 😊

I'm so annoyed that the only way to get this is to have physically attended the SDCC. I know they are supposedly going to make available overstock but we know how Hasbro is about actually listening to their customers. Thanks for the review Bobby!

They didn’t sell out of these at SDCC, to the point anyone without a lottery ticket could purchase at the con. There will be plenty on pulse just don’t sleep on it if you want one. But to your point I think Hasbro could break up the lot into smaller batches and put him up for sale multiple times to make sure everyone got a chance to get it .

Not a Cobra-La fan at all, nor am I a completionist, so it was zero issue for me missing out. I also didn’t back the HISS, so Cobra Commander coming out warms the cockles of my heart. Those backers get the Mickey Mouse and the general public gets the correct logo.

For the people just getting him in the mail from pulse and might be watching this. When you pull him out of the Hasbro shipper box it’s a snug fit and the slip case tends to stay in the shipper when you pull the box out so don’t throw away the shipper with the slipcase still in it like my friend did! From what I’ve seen online others have done the same thing not even realizing it came with a slipcase

I'll get it as a semi completionist thing, if I'm able to, even though I think he looks gross like you said. All my character wants are rooted in the Sunbox cartoon or the figures my cousin and I had as a kid. Mainframe, Frostbite, Iceberg and a few others.

I think this is a perfect example of what a con exclusive should be. Something you won’t see in the regular line and very specific that not everyone has to have. I wish the snake was bendy and had some more articulation tho. This part of the movie always creeped me out as a kid. I hope we see a v2 Roadblock even though we have a definitive looking one in the Amazon exclusive. Hopefully I’ll be able to get my hands on this one.

I was a Cobra La fan, when I collected the original line. When it comes to Classified, I think the final design of the Nemesis Enforcer helped me to the decision to skip Cobra La at the 6" scale.

The figure looks great , but since it’s an exclusive etc they could have added a set of 3 fingered serpent hands & maybe a set of serpent looking feet , as well as 2 swappable arms with ripped sleeves for more variety options to display the figure , but overall I like the figure

Any respect I had for Hasbro as a company has disappeared so long ago I can’t remember. You have to just expect for them to treat you horribly and to just expect them to do most money hungry stuff possible. IE- patches in a haslab giving in to SWEARING that characters were haslab exclusive then it fails and they throw the characters in a random legends wave. Just expect to be done dirty when dealing with them.

You could exchange Roadblock's head with the Heavy Artillery or the one from the Tripwire Tiger Force set. Then, he would be a bit more accurate to the film.

Great review i like the movie but not favorite kinda bummed snake eyes never had any really cool fights in it but i do gotta say I always did always really liked the scenes with CC and he’s transformations and his backstory, I thought was pretty cool too so stoked I got him in hand been a long time wait since I was a kiddo

Great review. Growing up, I preferred the comics way more than the cartoon, so I’m not too fond of Cobra-la. Unfortunately, the new cobra commander comics also have it in the story. So, I’m getting used to it.😅 I hope they do a golabulus, pythona and the royal guard fairly soon, so we don’t have to wait years to complete the team.

I'm on the fence on this one. I absolutely hate Cobra La, but I love Cobra Commander. So I want to skip this one, but at the same time, I want every CC released. I agree with you about it being the best kind of exclusive. It's a main character, but not a version that you have to have for your display to look complete. I understand the disappointment in seeing a Haslab exclusive be reused, but at the same time they shouldn't have ever made the main villain of the line an exclusive, especially in his classic uniform. They should have made him a crimson version or a hooded version if they were going to make him an exclusive. I guess the Mickey Mouse logo will always set him apart though. I also expect them to reissue Wild Bill and Wild Weasel. Although I hope Wild Bill is a retro in his Sunbow colors. Great review!

When I was younger I liked it less. Mainly I didn't like the Cobra La guard design. Everything else was pretty in line with Wild Bill flying with a ghost WW1 fighter pilot in a Spad or Dr Mindbender learning about DNA in a dream. You can't really divorce GIJoe from the weird comic book stuff.

Shame on the paint flaw. This is a very good exclusive. Something you can add if you want. Not needed. Cobra La is an interesting idea. I’m not sure if it has been realized well. Visually they are interesting. I would like Gollobulus, Pythona, and Royal guards. I’d buy them. I’d be down for expansion. I mean energon mutants in Mole Rats. Maybe mutants from Cobra La affected by the dark energon. Fatal Fluffues strike me as a Cobra La weapon. Beastly and controllable. I guess we’ll see. I’ll get this once a man if it’s not too difficult on Pulse.

Sorry Bobby this is an easy pass for me. I was in my late teens when the movie came out so I had no interest. I only like slaughters renegades from the movie ( hoping hasbro does a 3 pack). Great review thou!

A lot of people are negative and look for any reason to spew hatred for something, case in point Cobra-La. A lot of those same people never even watched the GI Joe Movie and are just repeating what they’ve read or heard. It’s actually really annoying. I for one, are one of the people who actually saw the original GI Joe: “the Movie” when I was a teen and thoroughly enjoyed it and the Cobra-La side story. I especially like how Skybound has included Cobra-La in the Energon Universe comics. As always, great review, Bee. 👍🏾💪🏾🪖🇺🇸
