I’m proud to be Native. I love representing my tribe in all powwows that I go to. I am a dancer so I hope to represent my tribe well through dance

Soy por parte materna pehuenche ( gente del pehuen(árbol sagrado)) sur Argentina y sur de Chile me emociona ver esto chiquitos tan conscientes en su cantar nomás no entiendo lo que cantan pero me hacen llorar de emoción a pesar de la invasión angloespañola y su cultura de muerte y los miles de kms que nos separan intuyo y veo que no hay diferencias nosotros cuando bailamos también imitamos los movimientos de los animales en nuestra caso los movimientos del choyque especie de avetruz más pequeña ,en nuestro baile también hacemos sonar cascabenes de Metal nos ponemos sus plumas y lo lla manos en nuestro idioma lonco meo (movimiento de cabeza) y lo hacemos al mismo tiempo que movemos la cabeza en la danza también tenemos problemas con el estado que permanentemente invade nuestro territorio con sus empresas petroleras y mineras envenenando la madre tierra , abrazo s feliz de ver que han transmitido a sus hijos la verdad de su identidad mí hermana que es de maestra y yo seguimos bregando como podemos por lo mismo , tenemos preadolescentes a nuestro cargo desde la música autoctona enfocándonos el la recuperación de nuestra identidad gracias por este cariño que vivan los pibes !!!!! Nos haría mucho bien intercambiar acciones que venimos llevando a cabo hace más de 20 años. abrazos!!!!!

AndresCruzBass this is hay creek, a youth drum group from the lac courte oreilles ojibwe reservation in northern wisconsin. They were honored as the 1st place singing champions at this years hunting moon powwow in milwaukee
