Hearing McCant’s whole outlook on leadership, give more insight as to why he was in the NBA for only 5 Years (incl. 1 Year in the D-League). He’s older and still feels this way, which means when he was younger, Nobody could tell him NOTHING, unless they were a better player than him.

A leader is someone that provides direction, purpose, and motivation. A leader is not always the most talented but is willing to do every task that is asked of others to do. A leader knows how to make everyone around them better for each other by helping others use and improve their talents without diminishing others. I did not play in the NBA but I served in the Army for 23 years. I have seen leadership my entire career it is what we learned to do. Gil's answer is the closest example.
