Saying people don't want to come to Miami is a crazy take. In just the last 3 seasons, everybody that requested trades had Miami at the top of their list. It's the front office's fault for not having the assets and being stingy with the assets they do have when it comes to trading. It's as simple as that.
@derrickwilliams356222 сағат бұрын
That’s a leverage point. They do that because they know Pat Riley will say no so it steers the team towards having to send the player where he actually wants to go. For the only time in my life, I agree with rashad. Gil has a point on that the Miami PLAYERS bring the franchise to the front, BUT shad is right that jimmy has to take blame/accountability for the issues with the team. What Gil is forgetting about, (because he's only speaking on the RECENT issues that have come to light), is that jimmy hasn't been JIMMY the last year and a half. The Heat has been a PLAY-IN team for the LAST TWO SEASONS. The reason Pat Riley told jimmy to STFU, is because he KNOWS CLEARLY and is UNHAPPY with his MAIN STAR not giving a fuck about the regular season and only turns up for the playoffs, but BARELY making the playoffs AIN'T Miami Heat basketball. And Pat is tired of the shit. If jimmy were being Jimmy, Miami would be a lot better than its current record. Pat suspended him NOT because jimmy spoke out of line with the media, but because he's been DETRIMENTAL to the team over the SEASON, NOT just because he spoke some shit recently. His body language. Not being engaged on the bench when he's sitting. QUITTING on his teammates. Tyler is clearly over the BS. Bam is being diplomatic. But the ON COURT PLAY is very telling about how the players feel about jimmy and the shit right now. It's unfair to the other guys. jimmy is BUGGIN.

Gil is correct in a sense when he said the superstar is bigger than the team, but the person who’s running the organization can’t act as such. Especially when you’re trying to set a standard. How many times on Gil’s Arena have they talked about bad teams not having an identity. If you treat a superstar like he’s bigger than the team, then you end up with a situation like Gil in Washington.
@ColombiaguapoКүн бұрын
What are you talking about? Gilbert brought fame and notoriety to the wizards coming off the shame of the Jordan era, and they haven’t been as good or achieved the same level of success since. Gilbert’s off court antics had nothing to do with thinking that he’s bigger than the team.
@queyoung6597Күн бұрын
@@Colombiaguapo They haven't achieved the same level of success? The farthest they got with Gil was getting swept in the second round by the Heat. John Wall at least got them to 6 games in the second round against Indiana. All you have to do is be a consistent watcher of this show to know the Washington organization was a frat house when Gil was there. And he brought guns to the locker room. How untouchable do you have to feel to pull a stunt like that? That's definitely feeling like you're bigger than the team. To answer your question, that's what I'm talking about.
@ColombiaguapoКүн бұрын
@ The wizards that got swept by the cavs lost to a cavs team that went to the finals. Gilbert has been engaging in off-court antics his whole life even during his college basketball days. That has nothing to do with the organization making him feel untouchable. You’re just making up narratives. Gilbert would behave the same no matter what team he was playing on because it’s his personality. Furthermore, every team in the league would have put up with it because he was a superstar in his prime.
@queyoung6597Күн бұрын
@ I never said the organization made him feel untouchable. He felt untouchable all in his own. Like you just said, he’s been engaging in off the court antics all his life. The Wizard just put up with it because as you also said, Gil was a superstar in his prime. In regards to the culture of the Heat, which was the main topic. Maybe Pat Riley doesn’t want the type of culture where a players ego is so big, that he brings guns in the locker room.

WTF is Gil talking about? Magic & Kareem said sit the F down for what? Go in detail and just say what it is, stop talking with a half tounge bro, and to try to discredit Pat like when he went to New York they weren't 1 of the best teams in the league competing for the title, and the jealous tone in Gil's voice as he articulate's how Pat rebuilt Miami with Drafting D-wade and acquiring Shaq & saying players only come when the championship window is open & just deal with the bullshit for 6 months is funny, that's the same bullshit you couldn't do to even play for a ring, like bro feel how you feel but Pat Riley is still a fucking Champion, wether you feel like Lakers gave him those or if you feel he finally earned it with Miami, he knows what the champagne taste like and how it feels to actually hold the Larry O Brian.

They let a few fluke runs in a weak east where players stayed getting injured or just weren't mature enough get them caught up in their theatrical minds. Jimmy is and never will lead a team to a chip as a #1. He's a #2 that these casual fans convinced even Jimmy that he's better than what he really is. He got a lot of credit for what other players were doing during those runs and you can tell he bought into his own hype.

As a Miami Heat fan, McCants with a super rare good take on heats situation. Gil playing down Pat Riley’s greatness is crazy.
@visiousthevip20082 күн бұрын
Gil is just salty. Since Pat did want to pay him back in the days and he never got to win anything in his Carrer sorry just he did a year suspension by Stern for playing gangster lol now he wants to downplay PAT greatness. SAD I was starting to like his podcast but with comments like tonight he just reminds me he still the big mouth fool, that Wade had to show him what greatness was when he started to talk shit about him back in the days GIL try had to call him to his hotel to apologize as he he realizes the stupid shit he had done. He is a funny individual, but he just doesn't think what he says before he says it that is SAD.

What’s good about the take? They don’t go after free agents it’s very apparent. The big 3 orchestrated that free agency when they went to Miami. McCants had a few solid points but his take overall is kinda shaky

How would people view Pat Riley's time with the Heat if Dwayne Wade wasn't the player and person he is? Heat Culture was set by Riley, but its success came courtesy of Wade, who fell into the Heat's lap at #5 in the 2003 draft. Wade carried the Heat to 2006 championship his friendship with Lebron helped get him to come to Miami and they won 2 more championships with Wade. Wade who became good friends with Butler on Chicago, and he helped recruit Jimmy to Miami. Then Jimmy helped Miami make two more Finals appearances. Riley is 79, and it's time for him to step down and go enjoy the rest of his life with his family
@johncalvo17432 күн бұрын
So what?! EVERY team that wins a championship won it because they had studs carrying them. No one is going to win with a bunch of scrubs. Miami went to two finals with a bunch of scrubs. The Big 3 Heat LOST twice.
