One of the greatest minds of the 21st century. Gil Scott-Heron spoke when others dared to speak. His intelligence was unparalleled. A genius who was ahead of his time. I could listen to him and James Baldwin speak all day long.

Same for me…he performed at the Univ of Louisville in the seventies and we got to meet him after. He had a commanding presence and he really cared about his people.

Same for me,as a student at Howard University, I was invited to a party and Gil Scott-Heron was there, it was a memorable time.I'm 73 years old this year and I won't ever forget that , he was so far ahead of his time and anyone who doesn't get it just doesn't understand the depth of the man's mind and feelings, his spirit and his being able to see into the future. Listen to "Winter in America" today in the year 2024 and keep in mind he wrote that in the early 1970s.

As a teenager I admired his music and message. As a senior citizen watching this video I admire the foundation of his beliefs. Intelligence, education, perception and being real. Gill Scott Heron and his writing partner Brian Jackson are still revelevant in 2021. I love them more today because thier message of freedom , reality and hope is today's reality.

Powerful mind and lyrics........... Luckily energy follows thought and creates! It takes it, from inside to putting it outside in the world for others to see and hear and mull.............. At these times of the 'dodgy virus' 'The Revolution will not be televised' comes to mind..................... Whatever, Enjoy!

All of Gil’s works is prevalent and up to date no matter when it was written. The 1980 Album prepared us for the future while the prior albums assisted in clarifying the past and current times we were living in. Beautiful BROTHER👊🏿

Yeah, but he cut off Gil's responses repeatedly and misrepresented Gil's comment on The Last Poets, likely because he was too busy readying the next question.
