The empathy between composer, transcriber, performers, and audience in this interpretation is a manifestation of holism in Self/Other, the absolute fundamental in Being as Such.

Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante evokes beautiful balance in the sound; outstanding recording with clarity, depth and vibrancy. The phrasing is intense and colourful. The composition is already marked for its energetic and balance contrasts from the Allegro maestoso to the Applaus. A majestic composition with appealing lyrical tunefulness. Masterly musicians.
Wonderful piece, wonderful performance, but I have to admit that I miss the wind section! Still a great piece and great that we can listen to this for free here!

I've listened about 9 times as of today. It's an addiction now. And I quit smoking 5 days now, so...that's saying a lot. I'd rather be addicted to this incredible ensemble.

MAGISTRAL interpretación de la célebre Sinfonia Concertante para violín y viola compuesta por el genial compositor nacido en Salzburgo W.A. Mozart. No tengo las palabras adecuadas para calificar la actuación del sexteto de cuerdas. Simplemente IMPRESIONANTE !!!!. Saludos desde España.

Very well-played. I'm a traditionalist, however. I think the arrangement is a bit muddy, and it obscures the two main lines. Gil is superb. He tightens his bow than anyone!

Magnificent. I love it. Someone dropped the ball at 5:15. But that’s the beauty of the live recording...

Who....? I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. I've read the whole score and remember most of it without having to go and look at it again. What happened? It just seemed like an arrangement/performance choice.
@zevyzions3 жыл бұрын
@@liamnevilleviolist1809 You know - I can’t figure out what I was referring to. Perhaps there was some sort of glitch in the recording or I made a mistake in the timing. It is a great performance. Perhaps at 5:40? I did notice that one cellist doesn’t get to shine as much as everyone else in this otherwise very great arrangement.

This arrangement is really something awesome and celestial. Excuse my ignorance: Is it another version written by Mozart himself or Mr. Gil Shaham's perhaps?

Alejandro ramírez It is not known who did this arrangement.
@zevyzions3 жыл бұрын
@@klassikswrkultur It was probably done in the early nineteenth century; perhaps even earlier.

Does anyone know who did the arrangement for six instruments?

It is not known who did the arrangement.

Johann Sebastian Annonymous (it's a joke). It's worthwhile to compare this version with the original, because the first cello part many times takes what Mozart wrote for the solist viola, i.e., it's not just a reasignation of the orchestra parts between 2nd violin, 2nd viola and the cellos.

Might it have been Shaham's wife?
@steveschwieterman91095 жыл бұрын
Or Shaham's sister or Brother-in-law?
@jimp41704 жыл бұрын
It was an arrangement made in the 1790s probably. The publisher likely had a bunch of musicians on staff whose jobs were to make chamber arrangements of large scale works like symphonies for amateurs to play.
@hoolala356 жыл бұрын
I wonder what Violin Mr Shaham is playing in this chamber version? Does not look like his 1699 strad
@AlexEwan16 жыл бұрын
I agree, certainly doesn't look anything like his Strad. Whatever violin that is I reckon is still jolly expensive and mortals like you and me will never get to play anything that expensive.
