For all the talk LaVar did about how great his son is, Lonzo should be breaking ankles and have vets scratching their heads as he blows by them like a building contained Nor'easter. Lonzo should have stayed at least another year in college, maybe even two.

Hell yeah. I don't know them personally, but im pretty Lonzo would have stayed in college, if not for his dad
@chriseanmarsden179

Why stay in school if that's not his goal what player in the one and done era or the last 10 years stayed and actually helped there draft stock. Idk if a lot of people know him but Dwayne bacon from Florida state was projected late lottery or middle 20s after his freshman year stayed and got drafted in the second round which isn't a guarantee contract granted he made the team but that decision cost him millions granted some people don't need the money and actually want to stay but saying someone needed to stay after a few games doesn't make. Also what was Lonzo going to do to improve in college he was efficient as hell in college 50% from the field 40% from 3 even in summer league he played really well so staying in school and doing the same thing wouldn't help cuz a lot of those college players won't be in the NBA it's your rookie year for a reason you will struggle especially playing against the best every night.

chrisean marsden it's hard for me to tell a man to turn his back on millions of dollars. All he has to do is play ball? My advice to the cats that got it like that would be to get the money.
@chriseanmarsden179
@chriseanmarsden179 6 жыл бұрын
VictorShephard that's what I'm saying and if they really want to get there degree they can go back to school in the summer and pay for it. I looked it up and saw that several NBA players have actually done this. Which is smarter imo because you make the millions that you wouldn't have made if you stayed in school and you pay your way for school which is nothing compared to how much they make. Plus if I had a kid I would tell them to do what I just explained if they are in this situation I wouldn't want any of the money but if that is there dream they should go for it

I don't have an issue as to how he's playing, nor did I think Lonzo was gonna ball out, but when your pop's paints and Target on your head. This is what he has to look forward to all season long. He should've grew some balls and stood up to his pops a long time ago, but that ship has sailed.

Christopher Otis w out his pops he wouldn't be there. His pops clearly has a long term plan, weather it works or not is irrelevant, he's taking the focus off his son. How many fathers of any race can say they have that many kids in pro ball. I don't hear anyone talking about lebrons mom fucking his teammate, I don't hear anyone calling her a ho, nor would I want people too! But demonizing a father who's there for a his kids.

Reid Lawler Do u have a child or children? I have 3 girls myself and as parents we lead our kids until they're able to fend for themselves. I feel u bro, but LBJ mom faded back once that situation settled. I understand he is a figure in his son's life and he's had this life mapped out for him, but now it's time to let this kid be his own man. My very close cousin is Eddie Lacy and he's a very successful college and NFL player. His Dad is nothing like Lavar. No one is aggravated with Lavar for caring for his kids, but what he's doing is trying to live vicariously through his son. This is Lonzo Ball life, not Lavar's. Shut up and let Lonzo blaze his own path.

You're *ABSOLUTELY* correct on the Kobe analyst. I've been stating similar for *YEARS!* Kob didn't get to establish himself as a rook. I.E. Allen Iverson, Garnett, & a host of others. Not only did L.A. trade Vlade to get him. Not only was Kob playing limited minutes. Eddie Jones (who was a really good NBA player) became expendable because of Kob's emergence. But beyond that. Before Kob had the skill. He had the will. *NO ONE* was questioning Kob's *HEART* His mind maybe LOL...but *NEVER* his effort or heart as a rook. Is what it is tho.

Israel Rosario Jr. Yall funny he led the league his rookie year in triple doubles. He wasn't drafted to facilitate. He was drafted to solidify a roster that had Jimmy Jackson and Jamal Mashburn. He wasnt suppose to be the face of the franchise he was suppose to be the missing piece. Jason Kidd was co-rookie of the year. It is early but can u honestly say Lonzo is looking like a rookie of the year candidate? Is he even the best rookie on his own team?
@kingkobun81
@kingkobun81 6 жыл бұрын
You're funny too bro. Kidd was brought in to facilitate. He had to get the ball to the better scorers like Mash and JJ because he couldn't shoot a lick. He didn't even shoot 40% for a season until his 3rd year, and shot under 70% in free throws at the time. There's a reason everyone called him "Ason Kidd" back in the day. As for Zo, give him time to develop. You can't write a dude off 10 games into his career, unless it's Anthony Bennett. That guy was garbage...
@amurray0806
@amurray0806 6 жыл бұрын
Israel Rosario Jr. When did I ever say Jason could shoot? You are comparing Lonzo to Kidd. Kidd was more aggressive and was involved in the game. In 10 games Lonzo has been passive and reluctant to even shoot. Can he get better perhaps but we are talking about right now. What has he done thus far to even put him in the same category as Jason Kidd. Had his father not sold wolf tickets would we even be having this conversation? He wasn't drafted by the Lakers to facilitate. Magic Johnson himself compared Lonzo to showtime.

Kobe clearly averaged more than 5-7" minutes per game his rookie season.Stats showed he lied. Gilbert Arenas is the epitome of TRASH. Great piece, young man. I agree, it's unfair to compare Kobe's rookie year to Lonzo's. Kobe was one of the two three (3) players of the modern era and quite honestly, I think he was one of the best one-on-one players in the league as a rookie. Lonzo will be alright; might have to change that funky shot, but he'll be okay. If, and only if, he stays mentally strong. That was Kobe's greatest asset, mental toughness. (Same thing with Kyrie, mentally tough--which is why he had to get the fuck away from Lebron.)

Gilbert just jealous man he threw his career away trying to be hard and not paying bets. Lonzo ball will figure it out. You can fix a shot you can’t teach that kind of vision and passing. Kid is 20 he will be fine. He is long for a pg. I hope it just puts a chip on his back because the kid can fucking ball. Dude can pass and handle the ball and he can get the rim and runa great fast break. He makes great decisions doesn’t turn the ball over. He will be fine.

Mr UTubeCover Fan you wouldn't say that about a piece of shit mother. You don't have to agree w the man or like him, but you would have to be portraying your insecurities as a father urself to question this man as a father. People always act like the black father doesn't value his family, and act as if the minute he finds out he's having a kid he hits the road. But really that's backwards. The black father is not valued as a father nor a man. In fact the complete opposite, he is demonized, orstrasized, and everything else under the book. There is more hate on the father and his ability at being a father than there is talk about basketball. Fucking sad Respect to all black father who manage to weather this shit storm of jealous haters out here!

I don't think Lonzo will be drummed out of the league. I think he'll be a solid player, and if he develops good offense, he'll be a great player. His steals, assists, rebounds are ok now and will likely improve, and his offense can ONLY improve (it can't get much worse). Jason Kidd was an almost identical type player offensively, he got better even tho never a great shooter (towards the end of his career his 3 ball got good but it was very late)

Yes but Lonzo is not a scorer he was drafted for his passing. He’s young and needs to be more aggressive, but he was never going to be a 30 pt score in this league. His strength is getting everyone easy shots and pushing the ball. If the lakers as a whole shot better his asst would be even higher. Yes his father put a target on his back and has made it more difficult, but Lonzo is far from trash....just give him time to develop, let’s see where he is after alstar break or even the whole season before casting judgment

Darren Trammel That's not true fam, do you remember Shawn Marion? He has one of the ugliest forms ever and he had a nice successful career. You have to give Lonzo a chance this is only his rookie season. He's having all of these crazy high expectations because of his father, it's nothing wrong him being supportive of his son's career. He just needs to know when to back off and let Lonzo breathe. I know all of this pressure is killing him game after game. Now if he is performing poorly in his sophomore season then everyone has a right to criticize him and the excuse of not having any professional basketball experience would be thrown out of the window.

I do not like what Gilbert said about dark skin women and while I do not feel that Lonzo is garbage; Lonzo's dad makes it very hard for him to fly under the radar and live up to the hype. Lonzo is possibly the seventh or eigth best player on the current roster behind; Brooke Lopez, Bradon Ingram, Julius Randall, Jordan Clarkson, Kyle Kuzeman, Kentavious Calwdwell-Pope, and Larry Nance Jr,. Just sayin! Lavar is trying to cash a check with insufficient funds.
