A wonderful man. I once wrote him an email asking him to call me and leave his Bela Lugosi impression on my answering machine. Weeks went by and one morning, Halloween, I came downstairs, saw I had a voice message, and it was Gilbert! To think, he waited until that particular day to make me happy! I'll really miss this extremely funny man.

Comedians are very thoughtful individuals. I have a friend that sent Doug Stanhope a message on Twitter, saying how much of a fan he is and that he was going through a hard time. Doug responded with “What’s your number?”. So he sent Doug his number and was called almost immediately. They spoke for a good 2 hours about everything. Pretty cool shit.

@@KairuHakubi what! And I'd go as far as to say I get why MacFarlane or Matt and Trey are more popular or considered more talented, but as far as voice acting is say Billy has through sheer hard work and talent earned the right to be discussed in the same sentence as mel ... The Old Groucho still had it. My mom got me the LP of the Carnegie Hall concert. He opens with his little "tribute" to Jack Benny and I had to stop the record I was laughing so hard. I am now a fan of Gilbert as well. Most of his stuff you come across is really just his voice saying something. He was a commentator on World's Dumbest for a short time. They were making fun of a commercial for some kind of ear swab thing and the guy in the commercial stick a Q-tip in his ear and yells "Oww!". Cut to Gilbert holding the Q-tip in front of him "OWW! YOU SON OF A BITCH!!" That's the kind of stuff that gets me every time. It's just so off the cuff even in an edited show like that. The best thing about World's Dumbest was seeing ne'er do wells like Tonya Harding, Gary Busey, Danny Bonaduce, and Leif Garrett poking fun at each other as well as the subject matter.
