10th March 2024 - I visited here today because I have just heard "Alone Again (Naturally)" after many years, I thought I would go back through Gilbert's 70's repertoire, I was 6 to 10 years old at Gilbert's height of fame and now remember hearing this song over 54 years ago. Thank you Gilbert O'Sullivan your dulcet tones were a joy to hear, even as a child. I will be 60 this year. What a golden age for great music.

I heard this heartfelt song for the first time today. I had it on repeat all day. Smiled, cried, laughed. @willdgoodhand wrote below "A wonderful celebration of life(s)". Thank you for finding the right words. And thank you Gilbert O'Sullivan for a wonderful song. Happy holidays.

I class this song as a real masterpiece along side nothing rhymed one of the greatest songs I’ve ever heard and I’m 66 , these songs compare with Lennon/McCartney in heights of excellence and originality ,I bet Gilbert was so happy nothing rhymed the day he sat writing it at his piano

Who would've thought the daily hum drum of life could sound so beautiful. This is one of my favourite Gilbert O'Sullivan songs. The way he sings 'We Will' is incredibly moving and the lyrics are full of nostalgia. This gentle song reminds you of the good bits from your childhood. The sublime instrumental arrangement is just perfect and makes it sound timeless.❤️☮️🇦🇺

Even as an instrumental this would be exquisite, i adore the go to mass line, reminds me of me mam's words before closing the bedroom door every night growing up: goodnight son, say you're prayers...

I couldn't believe I'd never heard this song before when I discovered it a decade ago, and played it to my missus while wooing her... We now have two little ones... "get up them stairs go on quickly...the both of you's". A wonderful celebration of life(s)

I was 17 when this album was released, and as a piano player I was excited. Elton John had arrived, but this was a guitar-heavy time, and there weren't that many people sitting at the piano and singing a song. I had hope! I had just started writing songs, and nothing had ever given me more joy and satisfaction than sitting at the piano and wondering what would come out. With the piano, you can sit there and look at all the keys laid-out, thinking - all the songs in the world are right here at my fingertips! Then you somehow find a song of your own... and it's a miracle. I used to carry this album around, and would take it to my first girlfriend's house. "We Will" became my favourite song of Ray's (If I may call you Ray), and I find it still is. It's a hard call. I love "Alone Again", and remember buying the sheet music so I could learn it properly, but "We Will" gets me every time. We used to say - "I bagsy" in Northern England where I come from, so that part always gets me. It means "I claim" by the way. As in - "I bagsy riding in the front." I am thrilled with the new album and happy to see this new video of "We will." I'm going to listen now! Thank you! Love to you all..............

I wondered what bagsby meant and when I looked it up (decades ago) it said it meant "calling dibs on something". I actually have the sheet music for his Himself album. It doesn't had Alone Again because it wasn't included on the original release. His schoolboy friend Rick Davies taught him how to play piano (and drums), who went on to form the group Supertramp. Ray played drums in Rick's first band, Rick's Blues (or sometimes called Rick's Blues Boys).

I hope you made it to one of the Dublin gigs. A stunning performance from the most under rated songwriters of the 70's.
