Apesar do equívoco, não deixa de ser notório que o grupo "Os Novos Baianos" faziam referência justamente a seus predecessores da Tropicália, em particular os Doces Bárbaros. Mas estes nunca foram propriamente "um grupo", mas uma reunião eventual, um espetáculo dessas quatro vozes que virou álbum e só viria ser denominada assim já nos anos 70, bem depois de se tornarem conhecidos nacionalmente. P.S.: já "Baiano e os Novos Caetanos" era uma sátira musical de Chico Anysio que aproveitava essa correlação entre essas duas gerações de grandeza maior da Bahia...
