It's gorgeous! Did you use real Tyrian Purple? Gilding adhesive? Can it be purchased online or at a craft store? Lisa

I make my gilding adhesive using a 14th century description from Cenini, used a pigment that I made from carmine (from the cochineal or kermes insect). Tyrian purple doesn't show up very much in books, but is used for parchment staining and cloth staining.
