This animation is awesome, you captured the whole feel of the show amazingly. Sucks that all the people comment saying 'Archer can't dodge EA' like we get it, EA is the strongest thing evahh, it's a fan animation meant to be enjoyable, stop nit-picking. "He could've won if he used it at the beginning' yeah, but his refusal to due so out of pride shows how he's not a real warrior, as much as Archer's analytic and pragmatic mind is a weapon, so is Gil's pride his weakness. Anyways, good job.

first and foremost, gil can't handle Archer on CqC. Even shirou can wreck him up at short range. So it's kinda flawed from the beginning. Still a nice animation tho

Bet you didn't watch the original fate stay night? UBW is reworked version ya know featuring Rin as main heroine. But the first FSN Saber is main Heroine. And in the Shiro vs Gil fight in the original FSN Gil actually uses his sword, heck even wielding two of them like dual blades and proceeded to clash with Shiro in close quarter combat using their swords

I love this animation, and I've rewatched it almost monthly since it came out, since it captures the essence of these two "Archers" perfectly. Even as silent stick figures they have all the character that the originals had. Also for those complaining about Ea being dodged, that's where you're assuming too much. It can't be *stopped* by any barrier short of a planet, but nobody has ever said it's *unavoidable.* It's a very 'no man of woman born can defeat me' situation, and EMIYA is a guy who thrives on technical loopholes.

I also want to point out that in the instance you’re mentioning, Gilgamesh wasn’t purely out to kill him, if you actually watched the fight you would see that Gil wanted to give iskamdar a very respectable fight and highly respected him, so he didn’t aim AT him, he aimed in front of him at the ground. As a result of this, it created a huge chasm for iskandar to jump over and for his men to fall into, giving him a 1v1 opportunity. Where did u see that he dodged it?

It is Emiya Alter, sure, but the mechanism behind it is available to regular Archer as well. It's kinda weird, whenever I remember Gilgamesh I notice more and more how similar he and Archer are, as far capabilities go. Archer has far better weapon skill, has his own pseudo GoB, can adapt to situations, but unfortunately he has little else. If you have more raw power it's over. I mean, I'd like to point out how Jalter Santa Lily has higher STR than him, he'd get bitchslapped by her if he wasn't careful...

While I think Gilgamesh obtained most of his treasures by himself, I think the rest of his treasury was filled by the Throne of Heroes with the early concepts of Noble Phantasms because of the legend that he owned every treasure in the world. Heroic Spirits work by a combination of feats they actually did and the legends people make about them. So while Gilgamesh is a legitimate badass which has the right to boast his power all that he wants, a considerable chunk of his strength (weaponry) wasn’t originally his. The part that every Noble Phantasm must at least been in his Gate of Babylon always irked me off. I can understand if it’s about the prototypes or the concept themselves but I’m pretty sure that most Noble Phantasms after Gilgamesh’ era have not been made using his weapons as materials, unless they’re being used as models.

You have to remember that a Noble Phantasm is merely the manifestation of the Hero's legend. In this case, Gilgamesh's legend says be owns all the treasure in the world, which includes all physical NPs.

It's like he has the original version or rather the Alpha version of that weapon. It is crude and without limitation thus most cases beating their Original version or complete version. Just like in many cases some of the game breaking stuff and mechanics needed to be tweaked for full release, the prototypes were literally too broken.

The battle between these two remind me of another game called Stratego. In this game there are these two special pieces. The Commander: The Highest Ranking piece. And the Spy: The Lowest Ranking Piece. Unless The Commander stumbles upon a mine, he is the strongest piece on the board. However, the Spy is the only piece that can kill the Commander. Even though he’s basically fodder compared to the other ranks. Sort of like how Shirou Emiya, who could barely even qualify as a mage possessed the only skill set that was basically hand crafted to counter Gilgamesh.

All Emiya need is to trace Gae Derg. Gilgamesh's armor is be strong and capable of enduring attacks stronger than A-Rank but the armor is similar to Artoria's armor. Hence Lancer's Spears are a perfect counter.

Positive: Great animation and attention to details, you captured fighting style of Gilgamesh and Archer better than most adaptations. Bit Nitpicking: Ea cant be dodged and Gilgamesh can easily tank/block with shields attack from Caladbolg so it felt like a bit cheap ending, would been better if Archer beat him in close combat instead but its your animation so your rules I just wanted to say it if you were trying to go for "authenticity".

I've rewatched this several times out of pure awesomeness, and I just realized, we don't see Triple Linked Crane Wings? I figured Archer would try that before UBW. I'm pretty sure it's his most foolproof attack that an enemy cannot avoid.

Triple-Linked Crane Wings wouldn't be effective against Gilgamesh. There are two ways to counter it: either throw yourself into the attack and hope to take both you and your opponent out, or have an omnidirectional defence. Gilgamesh's Gate of Babylon would easily fulfill the latter. EMIYA could make Gil vulnerable, but the Gate would just fire shots at him and force him to either break off the attack or get skewered. In Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma, it took both Shirou and Chloe Von Einzbern using the attack to get past Angelica Ainsworth's defence, who was just a human utilizing Gilgamesh's powers. It's doubtful that the same strategy would work against the actual heroic spirit. EMIYA would know that using the technique would be a waste of time.

The Super Saiyan While it’s true that Archer is a ridiculously powerful being in the fate/universe that isn’t true. The only scenario that would allow him to beat Gilgimish is if he teamed up with a servant of high caliber with a noble Phantasm that Gilgimish doesn’t have like saber for example. With his unlimited blade works his usually weapon slam wouldn’t work and he’d have to use Ea or one of his other noble Phantasms that aren’t a weapon. In which case the servant that teams up with Archer would have 3-5 minutes to take him down while archer blocks all the weapons.

Archer E Gilgameshs pride and overconfidence is a fatal flaw for him but at thee same time he wouldn’t go easy on Archer because he knows how powerful UBW is and it’s clear that he harbors hatred for Archer. UBW fires weapons faster than Gate of Babylon which is the only advantage he has over gilglimesh but at the same time those noble phantasm in his UBW go down one grade from the original which means they can’t compete with Gilgameshs prototype noble phantasms. In order to come out on top Archer would need a high caliber servant that has a noble phantasm that Gilgamesh doesn’t have in order to obtain victory while he holds off weapon spam from gate of Babylon.

And UBW out pacing GOB is enough I'll lets archer make this cqc which from thing he's done in the series the much better then Gilgamesh at. Also I don't did you really need that unknown Np to beat Gilgamesh the problem with Gilgamesh mainly getting through GOB spam after that you just need to be better then him at cqc.
