It's funny, went looking for this tonight as it was the first gig I ever went to when I was sixteen. went on my own, as a friend let me down the day before. I remember it being so great along with the vivid memory of Janick Gers climbing the PA stack at the side up to the top, and it was a fair way up with the roadie hanging on the wheels at the bottom for dear life. I was right underneath it. Haha. No health and safety just Rock and roll. Great memories

@@centaurus5676 Janick's playing here certainly fits that description, but then the whole band is a it frenzied (and probably significantly wet with whatever alcohol was in the rider)! On the other hand, I would surmise that this is also before his playing went up a few levels, because he did a great job on Bruce Dickinson's, "Tattooed Millionaires" solo album soon after this gig, and then I have seen a video of him from about ten or so years ago trading fours with Steve Morse, and I was quite pleasantly surprised that he held his own. This wasn't very long after Ian told Bernie Torme that if he didn't join the band for their appearance on Top of the Pops , he could start looking for a new gig. Bernie never showed up for the trip, and Janick was in. This was sometime in 1981 I believe, the year of my birth ironically. Janick was great on Double Trouble and great on the uneven final Gillan album Magic. Those two albums and a handful of times the most recent Iron Maiden albums are his greatest claims to rock stardom.
