Tony the one thing I really love about gillette that is probably the coolest part is that alot of the stuff is interchangeable so you can get plenty of cool handles and a wide assortment of blades

I really enjoy the trac 2 based on cost and shave quality but out of the fusion line up I really like the original Gillette fusion 5 blade and the original handle problem is the blades are expensive for me to be using that razor everyday

I’m not saying they aren’t price gouging but I’m saying if people are willing to pay stupid prices for everything else why not get a premium razor. I do however want to try the trac 2 and the Mach 3s and such to compare. A lot more affordable for sure.

Wow. I'm actually early to one of these. I have tried many blades and razors over the last 20 years. From Schick, to DSC, Bic etc etc. And I keep coming back to Gillette for a reason. I resisted moving to the Proshield for years (The Proglide with Flexball was just fine) But when I did move, Best shave I have ever had from a cartridge razor. Is it expensive? Yes. But as a man with sensitive skin prone to burn and ingrown hairs? There is almost no equal. Great job on your videos.

So I have to say, the build is solid. The design looks great. Normally I don't go for Yellow accents, but they pulled it off here with the black rubber grips and the natural metal finish. It looks modern industrial.

I have a coarse beard and ironically the Shield 5 is my least favorite blade to use on my Gillette Pro Glide. I get irritation when using it. The “chill” blue strip razor is my favorite by far…I love how smooth the shave is and the mild cool feeling on my face after shaving with it.

Just ordered this from Gillette as part of the subscription yesterday. But already thinking of leaving the subscription because I can't get the chill as part of the subscription. Also a replacement cartridge for 4 baldes is $20, Amazon sells the same cartridge for 17.

Just get the “free” handle and then go buy blades for a good deal somewhere else. Plus when I signed up for this “subscription” they never sent me anything else but the razor afterwards. Their website is bad lol but Walmart and even Amazon has a better price for blades. The only good thing about their site is the idea that they use ups to ship it directly to your door, so if you live in an apartment you don’t have to go to a mailroom or office to grab your package

Good advice on the no digging. I've been pushing hard with my razor for a long time trying to get that super smooth shave and get all hairs. My beard is reddish brown and I'm pretty light skinned so it shows even after I shave. But that's just the way it is! You're shaving, not digging brotha! Gentle shave with a good razor gets you that smooth shave!

Good question. I’d opt for Gillette’s SKINGUARD- which is designed to mitigate irritation, cuts and ingrown hairs. The GilletteLabs Exfoliating Bar Razor is another option, it has 5 blades like the PROSHIELD, but I find it to be much smoother.

This is for few days growth, or everyday shave. It will not,never take a week hair growth off without constant passes,pressing on skin and cloggging. Single blades will...double blades will...3 blades will..4 blades or more...clog and skin irritation from many passes.

I was in that... in my Hemi.....and I had less trouble than the other fools.....with my 275/40/20's......all round...... not looking forward to -24C tonight...as for the razor...I got nicked up my the Chill/proshield, but not the proglide oddly enough...and shinguard was..ok....sorry I mean the Sensor that let itself go.....and Nivea still beats that "pur" nonsense....and cheaper....

This thing absolutely destroyed my face. I had been using the Fusion5 with absolutely no issues. But I thought maybe Gillette had come up with some new and improved ideas at some point. It seemed like the ProGlide Shield was their top razor. I bought it and gave it a shot. I shaved once and ended up with about a hundred red dots on my face. I look like I’m a 15 year old kid with acne. I’m going right back to my Fusion5.

@@averageguytested Yeah possibly. Because I didn’t do anything different. I shaved exactly the same way that I always do. I’ve been shaving in a very specific way for quite a while. I don’t go to the…I guess I would call them great lengths that you do with the oil and multiple passes and whatnot, but I’ve just found that my style had always worked perfectly fine for me. Then I just tried the same style with the ProGlide Shield and all Hell broke loose. I suppose there is one other possibility. At the same time that I tried the new razor, I switched facial cleansers that I use in the shower. I had been using the same facial cleanser for years but decided to switch that up too. So maybe I had an allergic reaction to that. So now I guess I need to experiment and see if the new facial cleanser and the Fusion5 still causes my face to break out. If does, then I’d probably have to say it was the new facial cleanser that did it.
