Very satisfying and enjoyable shave to watch, as you start your journey into wet shaving. Looking forward to your next video. Enjoy.

Excellent second shave post. After 10+ years of wet shaving I still get super excited and try to use everything at once too! I enjoy learning German words while you shave, so I hope you keep that up. Cheers

I just bought another vintage Gillette. A 1965 slim adjustable. That one clearly looks used but will clean up i am sure.

@@Heiko-shaves You will love the Slim, having the adjustability is so good.

@@Shaverboy516 looking forward to getting it. It definitely needs some clean up.

Well done Heiko ! Thank you very much for showing you learning curve. I always use a bit more shaving cream so the blade glides a bit better and you won't get a much cuts and burns. Just keep up the good work and try some soap from Stirling, I've always loved the soaps and they aren't that expensive to buy and try.

Thanks for your comment. I will put Stirling on my list.

An adjustable razor is also a good idea to allow you to choose aggressiveness. The Rockwell 6C is a very good razor at a good price.

I have been eyeballing the 6C. I will add it to my list of things to try. Thanks.

I found a Super Speed Flare Tip today, but had substantial green oxidation (perhaps loss of nickel down to brass). They weren’t willing to negotiate, so I told them I’d have to think about it and come back. It was in decent shape otherwise.

Bic CP blades work great in my '57 regular and '63 slim adjustable
@Heiko-shaves Жыл бұрын
I might have some BIC, better try those out.

Thanks for the encouragement. I will keep them coming. I have a lot my stuff to try out. Don't tell my wife how much shaving gear i have ordered. 😉

It would be interesting to know how you would rank the blades.

That is a tough one. I have noticed that the sharpness and efficiency is highly subjective and to be honest I have not really taken notes during shaving to keep track of my finding. Who knows, maybe in the future I can come up with something.

TABAC's puc is the best puc I believe on the whole entire market which ironically enough is a german brand ;) so you better give TABAC puc a try

I will. I love that scent. My dad, who passed away long time ago, used the tabac aftershave.

Please don't over complicate the shaves in the beginning of your hobby. There is a nice group on one of the forums that is promoting a 30 days beginner system. One razor, one type of blade, one soap/cream, one brush. Just to get to learn the technique. After that, you can be experienced enough to recognise the subtle differences and adjust your technique accordingly.

I will heed you advice. Thanks

If you ever want a German made safety razor , check out Timor . Wide selection of premium safety razors and they even make their own blades that are pretty good

Oh, I definitely want a German razor. I have been looking at Mühle, Merkur and some others. I will check out your recommendation. Thanks
