I was there that amazing night in Dublin. it was as close to a perfect gig I've ever been to. Old Crow Medicine show opened, I'd not heard them before... I remember how great they were and wondering if she was right to bring them... they were powerful! As soon as she and Dave started playing though I knew I was in the presence of greatness. They had us spellbound! A beautiful night.

One More Dollar is my favorite song by Gillian. It reminds me of my Mother and her siblings leaving the Hill's of Eastern Kentucky, in the 1950's for the Industrial Jobs in Northern Ohio. But I miss those hills with the windy pines....

(To offer context) I was there for this gig. Such a good gig. For about ten years I talked about this gig as being the best that I had ever been at, it probably still is. YouTubing doesn't do justice to how good these instruments sounded in the room. Still remember this as being the first time I heard 'That's The Way It Will Be', it was a brand new song at the time, the reaction afterwards tells me it was the first time most there that night had heard it, it took seven years before this song made it to a record, I was counting. The OCMS album was released earlier this year and was a favourite at the time, OCMS being there was a welcome surprise. Thank you so much for the upload.

Just saw them two days ago, June 30, 2017. You hit the nail on the head. The sound they produce live is indescribable, such incredible musicianship with two voices and two plus instruments at most!!!! One of the best concerts I have seen in my life. WOW!!!!!!

I was there and also raved about it for years. I was fortunate to see Patti Smith in Vicar Street & also this show within the same week - diverse but both equally amazing. It should be noted that Dave played with OCMS for their full opening set before the main show with Gillian. That moment at approx 50.30 mins (just before Blackstar) when Dave mimics the Dublin accent is one I return to as it always make me laugh - spot on 😸

"took seven years before this song made it to a record, I was counting. " I saw them debut it in SF 1 month later, and I covered 'throw me a rope' as they called it off and on in 2 different duets, one with wife which proved a bit too prophetic. but 7 years it was.

this finally got me looking deeply into RH. I saw them a month later at the fillmore in SF same tour/setlist. Amazing show. we learned the way it will be soon after and played it for 7 years before it came out on their last disc.

Brilliant gig but it needed a fiddle for the entire show rather than just the end. Especially for an Irish audience.

At the same time that was a bonus. They have always written, arranged, recorded, and performed as a duo with Gillian being the focus. Think it was only Dave Rawlins side project David Rawlins Machine where a fiddle may have made an appearance on stage regularly.
