Hey Guys!!! I'm a San Jose State Grad and guess what??? I used to DRIVE 304!!!!!! I am so glad you guys bought it and turned it into a lovely home! You're living my dream!!!! Enjoy the heck out of her! She was a good bus!
@MobileDwellings11 ай бұрын
Wow that is so rad! I shared this with Sam and Katy and they are very excited to hear that. It's kind of wild to think about the lives these buses had before we converted them and the dozens of people who drove them and thousands who rode in them! It's so cool to hear that you drove this bus and you're right it's a great bus. When are you building yours?!
@busmaniacandy11 ай бұрын
Yeah! What a small world! I drove buses while going to school and ended up with a 14year career before doing something different! Was just helping a friend of mine with his Prevost on Monday! Working on the wife but I’m going to do an MCI or PD4106 for more room! Every bus has a story!!!!

It's funny that building a bus to avoid natural disasters when possible was what popped into your head. I live on the Georgia coast & every hurricane season, it's batten down the hatches & go where it's safe. I started thinking of going tiny & mobile, when my last child was in his 2nd year of college. I spent time checking out all of the options but decided a 40' activity bus was what I'd need. I knew I wanted to be off grid capable, but I also knew being a traveling crafter of most woodworking items, I'd need more space for tools & reclaimed wood. So I started reading and watching all the bus builds, collecting ideas. Next year my house goes on the market, the bus gets bought & the build will begin. 😊

Beautiful bus. Very impressive. Love the crate for the pupper! What a cute doggo! Your tiny home on wheels ticks off everything on my list except for the gas stove. But to each his own. I just think it’s the greatest. You all did an awesome job. Congratulations. I especially love the mini split. It’s something being used more and more. Glad to see it’s being utilized rather then those crazy big things you usually see! Many happy, safe travels! Vaya con Dios!!

This is amazing. Literally the only change I would make is more batteries, and instead of the cell signal booster I'd add a Starlink to have an internet connection anywhere. Then I can use my phone through the wifi, and also my laptop can connect to the internet. This is 100% inspiration.

Millenials know how to build some stuff!! This one turned out pretty amazing, Justin. Considering you were a firefighter a couple years ago and didn't really know what you were doing, to now having built two buses, way to go. I think you have this bus building thing pretty well down at this point. Thanks for all the great build vids. What's the next build going to be???

Glad you appreciate them. I am actually quite proud of this bus. It turned out really tight! Firefighters are some of the best builders, electricians, and trades people out there so that’s not surprising at all how nice the bus build turned out. Just a thought, you're probably going to want a different hitch setup for your car. Something that lifts it off the ground, because every mile you tow it, that's one less mile you have on your car tires and you'll rack up miles on the odometer as well. Maybe a small flatbed for the car.

I love your bus conversion! I from San Jose so I'm very familiar with San Jose State! I noticed that your knives on the magnetic holder. I had mine on a magnet for years. I see you have the Victorinox 8 inch chefs knife, I have the same one! Just a little tip: it's safer to keep the blade points down and edges away (which you've done) in case you ever fall toward the knives. You will automatically without thinking throw your hands toward the wall so best not to have the points up! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!

Overall, a nice layout for your bus. Well thought out and executed. I like your portal passage way doors. Not a fan of your toilet choice however. But I am old and cranky. Your choice of using a shorter pusher bus was genius and a very good choice. Much better maneuverability and you can access many more parking areas and tighter streets and parking lot driveways. Looks like your still sorting out your mini split heat/cooling system. It will be interesting to see what you like and don’t like after a year or two and what future changes you will be making with your lessons learned and experiences.

Have you got a negative and positive cable connected to your batteries from the engine block to power up your batteries with an isolator switch relay in it. This helps when your bus batteries need a starting boost if it goes flat. Just switch your isolator on and the bus battery will have power when starting the engine. Also do you have solar too. Plus having the isolator helps recharge your batteries in-house for extra power, especially for those low sunlight days.

This might sound sort of odd, but you guys did something that is almost unheard of. During the entire video both of you used "we" when describing things (for the most part, when you talk about your work station of you course you say "I" and they both did it). Normally, in these videos there is one partner that says we and the other almost exclusively uses I. Which speaks of a dysfunctional partnership (it would at least be a marker someone trained in psychology would look for in a dysfunctional relationship). The fact you both say "we", primarily; is nice. This is the first of your videos I have watched, hope that trend continues. Want one bus life family that doesn't irritate me:)
