Have you got any memories of Gillingham Railway Station? I would love to read your recollections of time using or visiting this station.

I remember getting the train with my mum and late nan from Gillingham to Rochester market back in the late 90s. When it was still the old slam door stock and the original station at Rochester.

My first memories too are of the slam door stock, especially those that went to Charing Cross.

Great video of my local station. It was good speaking with at the foot bridge. It will be a sad day when that bridge does finally get replaced. Keep up the good work!

Really nice video of the station. I like the photos in the waiting area too showing the history. The station does look busy and has a lot of features that you showed us. The frontage look modern but the station has kept some nice features. Nice to see the sidings still there and in the old maps photo it did seem to have quite few. Great to see the planter box with the message for previous staff who worked there too.

It is a good station to visit, and agreed the planter for memories of staff is excellent. The footbridge is good for excellent views of the rolling stock. Many thanks for watching.

Extremely informative video, I learned a great deal about a station I have stood on or gone passed on a train many times . Hopefully you will be going upline to Gravesend soon. The 700 s are new to me, does anybody else feel they sound like the TARDIS as they move away ?😮

Thank you, and the sound of a 700 is certainly unmistakable! I may do Gravesend late in the year, the line up to abbey wood from Strood is quite an interesting one.

Many thanks for watching! The footbridge is around 10 minutes from the station and is well worth a visit for the views of rolling stock .
