Just not intelligent enough to not be a jerk. Insecure people act this way. And some teenagers. Dean was maybe less educated, but he was kind and honest and had an inner strength, there was a calm energy about him. Jess is always trying to provoke a reaction, can easily lie, manipulate, and is often hurtful and disrespectful even when there is no reason for that. Dean is much more mature than Jess.

Morning Star ok but what about the times Dean was extremely insecure? Insecure about her doing after curricular activities instead of dedicating every moment to him, insecure about Tristin even when nothing was going on, that one time Rory told him she wanted alone time to do her laundry and eat Indian food and he insisted on coming over even when she didn’t want him to and verbalized that. In this scene alone Dean was definitely more mature than Jess but he has his moments too. He also started a fist fight with Jess at a party while Jess and Rory were dating, completely trashing someone else’s house over a situation he wasn’t even there to see.

Honestly, the characters in this show are fun to watch. Everyone is flawed and has their moments of likeability and disdain. I personally could see rory with any of the guys or lorelai. They just have to make up their minds and have better timing. My choice Rory&Jess Lorelai&Christopher/Luke Kirk&anyonefunandeasygoing Dean should have matured and then if he really doesn't get along with Lindsey maybe find someone else idk This is a long comment. My point is they are all flawed, but love isn't logical they should follow their heart and then find compatibility.
