Management at Gilmour Space Technologies may be fantastic at PR and engineering, but their ability to follow simple instructions regarding regulatory obligations in an environment crossing Indigenous lands, World Heritage areas, and simple things like timelines, calendars, milestones, and filling our online forms in a timely manner seem to be utterly pathetic. They blame the government, shit in their nest, and then complain about the smell. I genuinely hope these blokes mature to the point they stop blaming others for their own oversights, especially when they can't answer simple questions when asked. The government has done everything possible to encourage and hand hold these rocket toddlers. Allegedly. It must be easier to whinge to the media than do your homework and respect the opportunity you've been given.

Yeah nah... I doubt it. Australia has been involved in space exploration and rocketry since not long after the end of WWII. Bloomberg is a media organisation. 40 years ago Joh said that launching rockets from Queensland would be big business. He wanted to build a large launch facility in north Queensland. He got blasted by the ALP over the idea. Even before the collapse of Communism the Soviets would have come here to launch as there's a 30% advantage compared to their own facilities. Politics cost us 40 years and (at least) tens of billions of dollars. Good luck to the entire group.

Commercial mining is Australia's biggest economic venture. Australia set to become an extension of the USA space program, southern hemisphere launches, as well as provided better launch access for Japan, the space program in Australia is set to expand hugely, not so much Australia's space programme but an alliance of partners, USA, Japan, Canada, Australia and the EU will probably gain access to the southern hemisphere via Australia.

Honestly it is a bit disappointing that we aren't further along, but in fairness Australia has never had any real launch vehicle industry so we don't have the same skill or experience base that American startups would have access to. Sub orbital flights are some of the first steps towards putting satellites into orbit and for a company to be in the process of developing this technology despite the lack of domestic expertise is a win even if we should have started earlier.

Looking at the attitudes of this lawyer who has never launched a rocket or started a biz, shows what Gilmour is up aga8nst. Australia is probably worse than California. Elon recounted how it took him well under 2 years to build a GigaFactory in China. Same factory in Texas, probably the most regulator, Cassandra free zone in the US? Just on 2 years. CALIFORNIA? Absolutely stuffed full of interfering Cassandras - Elon believed is a No Go area, as 2 years would be the bare minimum needed just to fill out the forms from all the Cassandras over there. The dismissive attitude shown by Steer towards the consumer response of Gilmour towards his Cassandras, who he had to EDUCATE on how to regulate him is one Big Reason the Trump team was recently elected. To rid America of its Cassandras, Elon and Vivek are aiming to shut down as much of the corruption government as possible. 1000s will be sacked on the first day. I'm Australian, I've never heard of ACSG, why do they exist I would have thought CASA would be able to manage this. Also why after 80 years of liquid rocket flights are engineers still scratching their nuts and working out functional designs. Absolute BS, sub-orbital flight, surely you jest. We are the only country to ever make a fighter plane, when the world was at war, to never manage to catch let alone shoot down an enemy aircraft (CAC Boomerang).
