What signature playoff series has Kyrie had since the 2016 when he outplayed a hurt Steph. Kyrie is not an engine he's a weapon. 2017 Steph outplayed Kyrie in 2017 Finals and Kyrie has not been dominant in the playoffs outside LeBron. This years Finals Kyrie got locked down by the Boston Celtics. Steph had one of the greatest Finals in NBA History in 22 (pretty much Smart and Holiday are the same defender Holiday is slighty better, and 22 team was a better defensive team). And Steph didn't have anybody on the level of Luka in 2024 like Kyrie. Also as much as I love Kobe, Kobe is not better than MJ. Kobe was a better 3 point shooter, footwork, and a better shot-creator and Kobe was more skilled than MJ. But, MJ did everything else better; Kobe did the same things but not as effective and efficient. And before anyone talk about the comp. Clyde, Dumars, Miller, Mullin, M. Ritchmond, Dan Marjile, Latrell Spring Well, and he played the Kobe's, Vince, TMAC, Ray Allen, so on and so fourth and even with the Wizards he was killing those guards of the 2000's as well.

What signature series he’s had since 2016?, even if you think he got outplayed in the 2017 finals he averaged 29/4/4 on 47/42/90 splits, the round before he averaged 26/2/5 on a absurd 62/50/92 splits, 2019 in the first round he was ok, he averaged 22/4/8 on 43/42/88 splits, 2021 in the first round he averaged 25/6/3 on 49/39/92 splits and was ok in the next round before giannis zaza pachuliaed him, he wasn’t horrible against the Celtics in 2022, he averaged 21/5/5 on 44/38/100 splits on 58% true shooting which was above the average. I wouldn’t classify 1 great game, 2 bad games and a solid game as a bad series. The first round in the 2024 playoffs against the clippers he averaged 26.5/6/5 on 51/45/85 splits and was the best player in that series, and in the western conference finals against the number one ranked defense he averaged 27/3/4 on 49/37/81 splits. So him not having a great/signature series since 2016 is cap. Steph, donavon Mitchell, Jamal Murray, lebron, Kobe, dame, harden, melo, Ai, Paul George and so many other stars/superstars have had bad series. I don’t know why you’re taxing kyrie the most over players that are better than him.🤔

People were never this vocal about kobe being the GOAT until he passed away. He was ALWAYS 2nd to MJ while alive. So much so that Lebron jumped him in the public eye before Kobe even retired. The added push that he is the goat is because of people's fondness of him now that he is gone. Gil is just pushing back.

Today’s players are evolved. The next Kobe who’s probably in diapers will have better skill sets than Kobe because it’s the theory of evolution. That don’t make him better.

💯🔥, That’s the point people conflate about the theory , especially when talkin sports. We’ve evolved beyond the times when the pyramids were built but can’t replicate them even with everything we have at our disposal currently. Just because you’re further into the evolutionary chain, doesn’t inherently make you better, even if you imitate it nearly perfectly.
