Most of the league is like this. It's not really coaching because most "real" coaches wouldn't last in the league. It's ultimately about the culture and dynamics of the NBA, where players have so much power that they are ruining the league. That's why FIBA is now the better basketball to watch.

Lakers fans can't admit they're surviving off Magic Johnson when he was president. He's literally the only reason LeBron came to the Lakers. Rob Pelinka only got a role because he was kobe agent
@ReelRedditTales62311 сағат бұрын
Facts! I see a lot of people trying to discredit Magic Johnson and give Pelinka all the credit for 2020. If Pelinka deserves all the credit, why can't he come close to replicating what he did before. Another point is when are we as Laker fans going to realize it's an underlying issue going on. How many coaches is the team going to blame. First it was Luke Walton, then Frank Vogel, then Darvin Ham, and now JJ. At some point you have to stop pointing the finger at the numerous amounts of coaches you bring in. Look in another direction because clearly coach blaming isn't working.

The NBA is at a point where 1 second after the ball crosses half court a contested 3 goes into the air. Teams are combined shooting 70+ 3’s a night. A simple 2-3 zone could systematically shut down the entire league. But coaches choose not to play zone defenses, allow huge runs and go down by 20 trying to shoot their way out of it. There aren’t plays being ran too much. Teams like the Cavs and thunder are where they are now because they play within the system of balancing 2’s and 3’s.

The fact that their answer to Rashad was it’s simple BUT! tells you all you need to know about today’s NBA. They are a bunch of players playing ISO ball and they don’t understand sets and simple concepts to the game of real basketball. What Rashad explained and drew up is basketball 101, what we have today in the game is AAU 2.0. There are no plays, it’s all about spreading the floor and either shooting a 3 or going 1vs1. That’s why the ratings are slipping and the game sucks!
