I installed this mod on my GBA SP. Everything is working and the battery is charging, but there is no sound. The sound appears when I connect the charger. When I pull it out, the sound disappears after 10 seconds. What could be the problem?

Hello! That sounds quite strange. Possibly the soldering is not done correctly and/or you are not using the right audio adapter. Remember that the adapter has to be analog, therefore, it should not include a built-in DAC. You can contact me through the form on my store and attach photos of the installation. Can you still lift the pads with the air soldering iron?

With an air soldering station, it's nearly impossible to peel off the pads from the motherboard. Simply heat the area and use tweezers to lift the connector without applying force. When all the connector legs are sufficiently heated, it will detach on its own. However, remember to protect all adjacent areas very well with Kapton tape, or you'll damage them (like the link cable connector or the side button).

I tried this mod. But for now i need a new motherboard because i had a solder bridge (i guess). Can this be an issue that my GBA SP doesn't turn on anymore because of a short circuit?

Yes, the board is compatible with all GBA SP models, it replaces the original connector, and it is the same in all models. Which short circuit did you do? I didn’t heard anything about it before, but maybe you can check the 2 fuses that the GBASP has. Check with a multimeter in continuity mode, maybe they are burn.

@@giltesa and what exactly gone wrong...i dunno. My guess is, it was a solder bridge. But i triple checked and it looked pretty fine. The new board is ordered and comes in a few days. Hopefully it works then. If not...i give up ;) But that's sad because i really want to test that mod.

I haven't tried it. But if the headphones doesn't include an internal DAC, it should work.

Now my second result. And I must say, i can't be really happy with this mod. It may work yes, but this mod now destroyed my second mainboard. And the second board charged before I did this mod, and now...nothing. The second board is toast. In my opinion, i can't really recommend this mod. Sad.

Many people were able to install it, I mean, it's just remove a connector and install other. It's the same number of pins and nothing else need to be modified. If you have a soldering knowledge. @@BaamAlex I don't think that can be the problem, the whole USB is covered around with the plastic cap. But you can check the continuity between usb shell and the GBA SP shell.
