Broadstairs is another great seaside town with nice buildings and of course the many different shops, pubs, restaurants and other various local businesses and i looked Broadstairs up on Google Earth Maps Street View and it is very nice looking but seeing it here is even better until next time and next destination Thank You GWTV.👋🇬🇧

I do enjoy your walks very much + thank you… When Ted Heath was British Tory PM from 1970-74 + lived in Broadstairs, he always spoke so fondly about it. Back then, I was but a young Brighton girl! Since then It’s always been on my To Do list to visit, based on his description of the place. So I’m very grateful for your tour as I’m now a Disabled old lady + it would be quite unsuitable for me at all…so thank you again, I’ve had a really nice time being with you…+ I look forward to many more of your tours! 🙋♀️😁💕

Nice to see our town on your walk, we must have missed you by a few hours! The arcade and morelli's ice cream parlour you passed were used for the recent dua lipa o2 advert. Funny seeing places you walk past and realize you're never visited in 25 years living here. Soon folk week, when us locals hibernate! Earplugs essential !!

ha ha I bet! Thank you so much for the info on Dua Lipa - didn't know that! Was hoping to see Matthew Steeples in the Magnet on my visit too but he wasn't there when. I went in What a lovely town - really loved staying there at the Yarrow Hotel

Great video again Neil. So glad you have done this one. My wife and me was planning to use the Premier Inn at Skegness for the occasional overnight stay. You have helped us to make our mind up. It looks great and so does the breakfast. 👍🏼👍🏼👏🏼😁

That was a nostalgic walk for me , been there a few times in the past for the Folk week in August, did a lot of walking around to get to different venues for performances. I have fond memories of Broadstairs.

You missed another famous person who lived in Broadstairs , it was Ronnie Corbett he lived next door to the Charles Dickens pub , it was there he came up with the Four Candles sketch , after visiting the local hardware shop nearby named Harringtons which is still trading today.

You might want to read the memoir of Emma Picken about vacationing with Dickens' family in Broadstairs, presumably in 1841 or 1842. It can be found in The Englishwoman's Domestic Magazine, 1868-1872, No. 78, Vol. 10, June 1871, page 336.

Well first of all the town has a real issue with insecure posing blokes driving through the town revving engines as loudly as possible I had a few encounters with aggressive people too, passing cars with women giving middle fingers etc Lots of other nightlife madness too that you'd expect with young un's boozing etc Wasn't something I really want to experience again!

@@GimbalWalkTV....thats really interesting to know !! Thank you so much. I got a question for you... Ive visited all these resorts with several overnight stays.. Which one do you think from the list below , was where mevand my family felt the MOST THREATENING AND UNSAFE AFTER DARK... Southend ? Margate? Blackpool? Brighton? Newquay? Eastbourne? Bournemouth? Weymouth? Paignton? Weston super mare? Great yarmouth? 1 Guess please..which one do you think? Be interesting to know ur answer in your reply. Look forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks.

3:11 Is that a restaurant ???.. When I lived in Broadstairs up til 2001 that corner shop used to be CROOKo ROOKS otherwise known as J.C.ROOKS the Butchers and Bakers. Used to go in there for the best sausage roll EVER and I mean EVER !!! Plus... COSTA Coffee used to be Barclays bank.. So much has changed yet the change looks clean and tidy. Yobs took over the town and threatened foreign students while I lived there. Hope the yobs there have subsided. Yet the Dolphin pub was always the center of violence in the town due to shady owners and shady people. Very DICKHEADIAN instead of DICKENSIAN as a town in the evenings.
