Nketiah is decent. His problem at Arsenal was a lack of starts (only 38), which is understandable given the quality / cost of the players he had in front of him. Based on his minutes he averages 0.5 goals a game and has a lot of qualities that suit Forest's style of play. This will make us a much better team if it goes through.

The English player tax is embarrassing. Leicester signed Oliver Skipp for £25m when he’s worth about £10m. That’s a worse deal than Nketiah!

Nketiah for £30m doesn’t surprise me. But I hope the personal terms are structured well. If he’s on £120k/wk contract to 2027 at Arsenal, give him £4m compensation and 4 year contract at Forest on £100k/wk plus goal bonus. That way he doesn’t lose out financially, doesn’t mess up our salary structure, and is motivated to prove himself worthy of moving from a decent club and into the European Elite with 2* NFFC.

I agree he doesn't fill me with excitement, especially for the cash involved, but no one was excited when Woods joined and he's ended up being huge for us. I think Nketiah's stats have been watered down from all the sub appearances, but it looks like he doesn't mind having a pop and not just from 5 yards too. He could be good!

Gimenez deal is not done. Most of what has been said in today’s update was reported before Forest’s second bid. I agree that the challenge of PL is superior to what he’ll face where he is, even with a couple of Champions League matches. How about Sterling over Nketiah? Nah neither, although we know sterling can score goals, Nketiah is a gamble. Riquelme for me would be a better gamble.

Opinion on Nketiah I use the following rating scale: 1- Better than nothing: does he fit here ? Maybe, but at the fee and wages mentioned, maybe not. Our team is notorious for carrying players where nothing is better 2- Better than we have: I am inclined to think no 3- Better for the future: I don’t feel it I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a pleasant surprise. We are due one 😊

I don’t think we should sign Nketiah UNLESS Ramsdale is guaranteed on loan for the season with an option to buy. Also include a no recall clause on Ramsdale and we just pay his wages; no lone fee. Otherwise let’s go for a different striker; Nketiah is not good enough to be a real upgrade on what we have but with Ramsdale I’d just about be able to be happy.
