Wonderful guitarist. The best Stones years was when Mick Taylor was in the band

Jagger's lyrics and melodic sense and Richards' riffs made the Stones' tunes great. MT was the icing on the cake in the studio. Plus Taylor made them a musical force live.

As great as Mick Taylor is and his lead playing here is, if you truly listen and feel this, it’s Keith’s groove underneath carrying the feel and allowing Taylor to shine.

Keith richards kinda freestyles with the guitar. Like I feel he’s not a standard guitar player, maybe because of the drugs

Keith played 95% of the guitars on Beggars Banquet and Let it Bleed. Due to his limited lead skills, he made every note count. This track is a great example, as is Sympathy'. That being said Mick Taylor was a great addition and unquestionably the closet thing the Stones ever had to a true lead guitarist.
@slapdog18332 жыл бұрын
Keith is not limited in his skills. That intro separates the flow of the song. It just sounds random.

The first part of this i believe was a practise/warm up session which was butter, which, in this version gets clumbsily butchered to fuck at around 2mins. Mick Taylors practise part lasts longer than this, it runs on for 4 or 5 mins and the whole thing flows like water, but sadly the whole version seems to have been taken down and replaced with this butchered version, thus proving that the universe (for universe read youtube uploaders) can usually find a way to turn perfection into chaotic bullshit. Thankfullty I have the full mick taylor part downloaded from years ago when it was being peddled on here in its proper full state but I feel sorry for the people who have to make do with this butchered shit here. Your missing approximately half of what mick played in that session and in its entirety was fucking fantastic even for a practise run.

Come on. Don’t be serious. Taylor was great, especially live but their legacy before with Brian was outstanding. Plus Charlie and Bill could hold down a groove. Not to mention mick and Keith before / during and a few years after Taylor. Greatest rock n roll band ever.

@@bsdgffishtuna5186 So you cannot listen to anything before Let It Bleed? Also, It's Only Rock-N-Roll (1974) was not a great album. The Brian Jones years produced several albums better than that and Goats Head Soup (1973).
