This song is yet another example of Doug Hopkins' genius. Whether or not people think the Gin Blossoms treated him wrong, the fact that they are still playing his great songs in concert, and give him credit for writing them keeps his memory alive. That is a good thing. The band have had to deal with the way things went down, and from what I can tell they miss him as much as we, his fans do. Doug's songs deserve to be played and remembered, and I'm thankful they are. Peace.

They wronged him no doubt. They are older now and have retrospect. It's one of my favorite songs.

God bless Doug Hopkins a sincere thank you for penning these extremely special songs ,which mean so much to so many IMO Doug wrote the best overall,and most recognizable resonative ,massively successful commercial rock n roll albums of the entire 90s That is an inredibly remarkable and noteworthy feat toacheive❤

Robin doesnt sound like he used to. But the earnestness of his voice and the music itself still holds up.

Doug is a musical genius. Lyrics and the rhythm. Prefer the rhythm of this though. It's melancholic

:13 So the song IS about a road trip!! I knew it! Why are they playing it so slow?
@pfaprado6 жыл бұрын
I guess they were still catching up to the song itself. I see a lot of those early embelishments were left aside live.

Tempo is a little too slow. Beautiful song.

Yes, I like it a little faster.

Many times bands will slow the tempo because it lowers the pressure on the vocals of the singer. You see this often.

RIP Doug. Lackluster performance of one of your best songs, but at least they're doing it again, and Robin mentioned you by name. Is Scotty drunk or what ? You were the best of 'em. Period.

Just isn't the same without Doug Hopkins :-(

Hopkins wrote that song, and it tore his heart out, and they're out there singing it like they wrote it. It's a fucking disgrace the way they act like he never existed. Doug Fucking Hopkins is the only reason this band was ever worth listening to.

Damn straight. The lack of acknowledgement and the way they wrote him off sent him into a downward spiral and contributed to his death. Karma, it is real.

Yeah, they didn't JUST say the song was by Doug, etc. Jesus Hezekiah Christ, people! That is NOT acting like he never existed, and they talk about him in interviews, they can't live their entire fucking lives talking about someone who was depressed, alcoholic by his own choice and fucking up, and decided to kill himself!
