I love the idea of this, but I noticed at 8:18 that the seam on the side of the machine (where the dials are) opens up as you ran the plates through. Wondering how well it will hold up.

i never noticed that, had to go back and look lol - It may mean I need to adjust my pressure so thank you for pointing that out. :-) I think it'll be fine but with all machines, only time will tell. Thanks !

I have the same machine manufactured under a different company. I have used the machine for years, and I love the simplicity and lack of guesswork. I think that you are right, Mindy, that your pressure is too high. I also noticed when you did the embossing folders there was bouncing, and that also means your pressure is too high, I love the machine with the adjustments, and I am so glad that Gina has brought this machine to the main stream of cardmaking and paper crafting.

I noticed that the website says that there’s a $15 surcharge on the shipping because of the weight of the machine. Can you please tell us how much it actually weighs as I cannot find that out even from the Gina k site. Thank you!

I'm sorry I do not know the weight and already disposed of the box. I would suggest contacted the Gina K Designs customer service department and they should be able to get that information for you

Hi Mindy there are very few crafters I trust with opinions on things you sre one of them. My Gemini Jr. Quit doesn't cut at all. I also have a platinum 6. In uour opinion would this machine give me everything I need so I dont have to replace the Gemini? To me, it does but I'd really appreciate your opinion thanks Mindy.

I would say it depends on what you are doing. I find this machine helpful when it comes to embossing folders ect because all you need to do is dial in your settings instead of worrying about different shims. I have embossing folders from many different companies and they all seem to be just a little different. If you do Betterpress or Hot Foiling - you can also do it with this machine. So it is a all-in-one type of machine and it does die cut beautifully. This is still a manual machine but the "cranking" seems to be a lot smoother. The Platinum 6 works well too for everything but iit s a manual machine as well. If your gemini isn't working and you want to replace an electric machine, then I would suggest the Empress but I only use it for diecutting. I will be using my Intri-Cut and Platinum 6 for everything else. Not sure if that helps but those are my thoughts.

yes! Jennifer McGuire has a great printout on her website where she lists all the different sandwiches for different embossing folders and plates. It's super helpful!

Would you believe, I didn't catch it on Gina's if she did, and neither Jennifer or Cathy demonstrated that snap into place of the platform base, where the gap is when you first drop the sides. But there was a LOT in her video it would be easy enough to miss. It was fun to see her excitement over a totally new product for them.😊
