I've seen some of these videos where people are commenting how its messed up their playing mexican parts, but im mexican and honestly i think its awesome just to have latinos getting more of a chance on the big screen. I saw miss bala last night and i loved it!

The problem is more about perpetuating stereotypes. I’m Mexican and Costa Rican and I’m super white. My cousins are red heads. The only representation of Latinos we get is dark skinned. WE ARE NOT ALL DARK SKINNED.

Wow chavos means money. In Mexico Chavos is a word for calling young adults. Like saying “those guys/girls over there” “esos chavos or esas chavas”. So interesting.

Haha, uhum. Example: "¿Tienes chavos?", as in "Do you have money?". We also say "peso" (ie. Dame 5 pesos) which obviously we use American $$ but it's easier/faster to say pesos (like an informal way). Don't even know how to explain it or why we say it 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣.

Also I might be wrong but chavos in PR it's like instead of saying centavos we say chavosa a quater we call it peseta and that was Spain currency sometime ago and we still call it like that.
