So sorry for all of Celine fans, but for me, Ginette is the best voice of Quebec. I think she likes to sing here and there without her mic to show her powerful voice. She did that also in a huge church in Montreal. Can't remember if it was at Celine's wedding or something else. That woman gives me goosebumb after just a few notes. Can you believe that she kept all that power and be so precise on notes while losing her hearing?! She's not deaf, but she did say that she doesn't hear well anymore. She's quite a woman!

This song, titled “I’m only a song” takes a whole other dimension when you know that this women grew up in a very poor family and already at 8 yrs old would spend her nights singing in bars to help out her parents. This is , and was, public knowledge. My mother actually went to school with her, same class. Everyone knew, and she was known to be tough (gotta be when growing up doing bar shows - taverns actually, where women weren’t yet allowed to go in).

How does she do this? She once said that her father was hospalized for a disease and the doctor told him that he would never be able to have children again (he and his wife already had two). On the day he received his leave from the hospital, Ginette's mother went to church and prayed to God to give them a third child and to "please" give that child a special gift and I will consacrate her to you". I didn't spare myself tonight, I told my whole life, As it didn't show That prudishness isn't a thing to me. At the pace of my fantaisies, tonight I shared with you my life, It may be a dream or reality, But it's still the truth. But I'm only a song I cry and laugh at every feeling With tears in my eyes or smile, I made love to you as good as I could. But I'm only a song Nothing less or more than a momentum of passion You may call me a dream seller, But I give love like some give reason. I didn't want to hide anything to you tonight, I didn't keep any secret, As it didn't show I needed to talk about myself for a while. I didn't hold myself back tonight, I revealed myself almost naked to you, On this too bright stage I could barely save myself from my inner self. But I'm only a song, I cry and laugh at every feeling With tears in my eyes or smile, I made love to you as good as I could. But I'm only a song Nothing less or more than a momentum of passion You may call me a dream seller, But I give love like some give reason. News about Ms Reno that came out today: She said she has heart disease. "One is operable and the other must be taken seriously and adequately medicated," explained the Quebec diva. Ms. Reno spoke of her desire to live fully. “I am a being who has always loved life with inordinate intensity and limitless passion. And still today, I am living this hospitalization to the full! She wrote. The singer said she was "in many good hands," and took the time to thank the health workers who cared for her. She will be hospitalized until she is "fully on her feet and in good health," she said. Ginette Reno wishes to give a benefit concert in honor of Pierre-Boucher Hospital when her condition allows.
