@ImaStar That is probably because Unreal is a real time render engine, but we used some procedural nodes, like the mix RGB on the mug, and such. And procedural nodes only work in Blender, they don't work in other 3d applications. So to fix this, you will need to texture bake out your materials to texture maps. Then you can use them in a game engine. Hope this helps!

The last time I did one of these long tutorials (half a year ago), I took a few days to complete it This time, I played it at 1.5 speed and kept skipping coz I'm running short of time. Beautiful work I like that Finally an easy task. Thanks for this extra Christmas tutorial Do you already have a cool idea for Happy New Year?
@RyanKingArt3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! No, I don't have any tutorial ideas for New Years. Maybe fireworks?
@mexlemax33073 жыл бұрын
@@RyanKingArt Yes a fireworks display would be great and there too vieleicht a change of the year. I mean as an animation made so that the year 2021 slowly changes to 2022. Or a kind of clock that then counts the minutes until it is 00:00. And then a super cool fireworks starts. Do you understand what I mean? I can unfortunately not always check my English itself Whether that is then all right. Oh, the Gingerbread I find a little too dark and the black is also too dark, I think. So it looks like this with you. Or what do you think?
@RyanKingArt3 жыл бұрын
@@mexlemax3307 yeah, those are some cool ideas. yes, if you'd like to, you can make the gingerbread cookies a lighter color.

Nice one Ryan. Thanks for the tutorial. Good too see how other approach it. I checked this video of yours because I remember doing gingerbread house material last year and kind of felt it's not close to realism yet. Well, I might give it another go this year if time allows and compare to yours, haha :D Think major change is Voronoi tex for Bump (height) node. I talk too much, lol, thanks for the video.

Good stuff, thanks. How would you randomize the outer edge of the "cookies"? IOW, less of a cookie cutter look and more of a hand made/pasted look? Not a crit, I think what you did is great. Tks. Merry Christmas!
@RyanKingArt3 жыл бұрын
Merry Christmas! To do that, you could sculpt the cookies, or you could add the displacement modifier and displace the cookie with a noise texture.
@CGandGC Жыл бұрын
Already mid of November, so I want to make your gingerbread cookies for a Christmas picture or movie (with you nice gingerbread texture). I only want to add a little darker rim on some edges of the cookies as sometimes happen in the oven. I know how to do this in Photoshop on 1 picture, but is there also a way to solve this in Blender? Thank you in advance, and keep making tutorials.

Do you know how can we texture tiger in blender? If you know please reply me.
@RyanKingArt3 жыл бұрын
Yes, it can be done. I would recommend texture painting it, or maybe creating a procedural material.
@doubleabrix55133 жыл бұрын
awesome video as always but i do have 1 suggestion. All your videos are directed to beginners and you explain things repeatedly especially with procedural materials in different videos. Maybe you can make a course where you start with the beginner stage and continue from there. In that way your videos will be more concise and a more fun process overall. Besides that these look amazing. Thanks man
@RyanKingArt3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your feedback. But actually, I get lots of comments of people saying how helpful it is to say all of the shortcut keys. I think a lot of my viewers are beginners.
@doubleabrix55133 жыл бұрын
@@RyanKingArt Its your choice I guess. I still watch the videos as they are informative, but maybe you can do a course where views start from a beginner video and progress from there. In that way you are able to make videos for all groups. Dont get me wrong i still think i am a beginner hence im watching these though not a first time user.

How long does it take you to create it in the first place? Seems to take me hours to do even "simple" things but videos are always like 30 minutes ;)
@RyanKingArt3 жыл бұрын
That really depends on how complex it is. And also, when I'm creating a tutorial, I make the final result around 3 to 5 times, to make sure I know the best way to make it, and so that I don't mess up during the filming.

So I'm trying to model the gingerbread house and my God, I'm failing hard. Had some serious issues making the chimney. And after an hour of fiddling, I got what looked like an ok gingerbread house. But then when the Subdivision Surface modifier is applied, it's totally not a house any more and adding loop cuts does not make it look any better. I'd post a link to a screenshot here but it looks like youtube doesn't allow that. How do I show you my gingerbread house? Edit: I've been tinkering for hours now and I can't get the gingerbread house cookie to look right, nothing works with me, very frustrating. I give up for now.
@RyanKingArt3 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that your having problems. It sounds like you just need to model it so that the topology works well with the subsurf. You could also just not use the subsurf and instead use the bevel modifier. Hope your able to get it to work. Merry Christmas!
@TheMightyAtomNL3 жыл бұрын
@@RyanKingArt I guess I can use the bevel modifier, but if I just knew what proper topology the gingerbread house should have, I can probably do the rest without problems. Are you able to share a screenshot of your gingerbread house topology/wireframe? Merry Christmas to you too!

When I add the Solidify modifier to the christmas tree mesh, the shading of it is all messed up. It's even worse when I add the Subdiv modifier as well, the geometry on the bottom left portion of the trunk is all fridged up however that did clear up the weird shading. Where did I do wrong here? Edit: Remade the tree cookie and this time it came out perfect, so I guess I did mess up somewhere, maybe an overlapping vertex somewhere or something. All good now. :)

Hmm, maybe recalculate the normals.

@@RyanKingArt Oh didn't see your reply when I made my edit, but I remade the tree and had no issues this time, all's well now. :) Also, I might as well ask, is there a difference between hitting B for boxselect and just... LMB click and hold and boxselect or are they the exact same thing?
