Today, I am giving air-dry clay a whirl. It was harder than I thought, but I do like how they turned out! They will be adorable additions to my gifts this Christmas! I learned a few things with this project: know the color of clay you are getting, consistency can vary from package to package, and for goodness sake wear GLOVES. HAHA 😊
Items needed for the project:
• Air-dry clay
• Parchment paper
• Water
• Gloves
• Cookie cutters
• Something to add hole for the hanger (I used the handle side of a small crochet hook)
• Tube paint
• Burlap twine
• Scissors
Directions:
• Gather all materials
• Put your gloves on - LOL
• Cover your work surface with parchment paper
• Remove clay from packaging
• Add enough water so you can knead the clay
• Knead until smooth and pliable
• Using cookie cutter - cut out your shapes
• Add the hole to each cutout the hanger hole
• Paint on any desired details
• Create small bows with the twine
• Create hanger with the twine
• Add the twine bow to the twine hanger
• Allow to lay flat and dry completely (my packing said it would dry within 24-hours - mine needed additional time)
