2700 rating, 10,000 subscribers, and a Pub with your name on it where every table is a chess board ... sounds like a good life... and thanks for the vids....

To be quite honest, If I saw a book called "Harry up the bottom" in my bookstore, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

0:49 : "Buy my dvd on theory on this opening" followed a couple of seconds later by "my theory is a bit lacking on this opening." lol
@michaelbauers88008 жыл бұрын
I find that funny too, but a person could write a book, check the theory, and it's all good. Then time goes by, and the writer forgets some of the theory. Two years ago I could explain action script programming MUCH better than I could right now :)

Hey GingerGM I was hoping you could satisfy a special request. On your next recording can you say the sentence "three free free-throws at three thirty three?" You don't have to do it, but it would make some of your fans smile. Nothing but

Remember that EVERYONE whos rating is near their actual strength will score about 50%. That is they will lose one and win one. That is true for both 1200 and 2800 strength players. So we expect Simon to be the same. What we love is who Simon is, its so easy to watch his videos and learn!

Excellent Form, GMW! Great fun to watch... Personally, I'd love to see you playing more French Defenses - back when I was playing seriously (40+ years ago!), it was my main weapon against 1. e4 ...

"He's done to me what I do to people!" :) A subconscious psych lesson @ 47:45 that we all can learn from. Thanks, Simon, for putting in the time and effort to educate us all. Cheers, mate! P.S. Please PM me address to where I can send mouse batteries...

After 1 hour, Simon gained 3 rating points. On the bright side, at least he gained rating points...

Nice idea at 10:00 to take with a rook instead of a bishop.

Simon, you need to change your outgoing requests to +/- 100 too. At the moment they're both set to infinity. You could have ended up playing me at 1300 and lost even more points! Or not.

You set a preferred rating range for incoming challenges, but not for outgoing ones (the ones you create). That's why lower-rated players can accept your challenges. Cheers.

All of your videos got one of these „I have to say I forgot the theory about this specific opening“ :D Simon - on a more serious note: when was the time you worked on your theory and your bloody DVD'S on gingergm.com? I would love to hear some bits about your chess life and career.

Of course, anyone rated 2500+ is automatically among the top .001% of players in the world, so you can't really say he's "bad at this game"... ;)
