Fun session. Glad to hear Tiger will be doing a DVD. It would also be great to have him on for a chess session sometime to help promote the DVD. Much like Sam Collins, I think you two would be hilarious together. By the way, you mentioned reading Tiger's Modern (2005), but he also has an updated edition called The Modern Tiger (2015). That one might be worth checking out as well.

Why do you (in the grand prix game) first check him with Bb5+ and only then go Bc4? Wouldn't it make more sense to go Bc4 straight away?

the point is to force a minor piece into d7 (since ....Nc6 Bxc6+ bxc6 ruins black's queenside), claiming it's badly positioned there

Good Session! Thanks Simon! By the way, I have a request for you. When you do a stream on twitch, can you post it on youtube as well.. My internet can't handle twitch. Unlike youtube, twitch requires a great connection. (I am still watching your 2 hour Spicy Chess Show for 2 weeks & still haven't finished it!) Of course I know twitch has some advantages as well, so i am NOT saying to stop streaming on twitch. Of course not. But can you please be kind enough to just post the video on youtube as well.. Unless I'm missing something, it seems like Ba6 is a really nice reply to that. Rh8 Ba6+. 1. If Qxa6 then Qxh8+ and black is getting checkmated. 2. If Kb8 then Rb7+ (so that the king won't be able to capture it). Now, If Kc8 then black can either repeat the position using Ra2 or go Rb6, Kc7, Rxf6, Rxh8, Rxf7 and win a pawn. If Ka8 then Qd3 (the bishop is no longer on d3) and all of white's pieces are protected. For instance, if black decides to fork everything with Nc5 then answer with Qb5, and if Nxb7, then Qxb7#. If Nxa6 (instead of Nxb7) then Rb6 (forking the queen and the knight), and then either black loses its queen or gets checkmated with Qxa6#. If black doesn't take either the rook or the bishop with its knight (played something else), then Ra7, Kxa7, Qb7#. Note that if blacks try to play Ng6 before Rh8 (so that the queen won't be able to get to d3), then simply Qh6 and the white queen can escape.
