This is great to see, and an impressive show of adventure to give it a go. Have been enjoying your T.Tues. posts, but really nice to see something else as well. Hope to see some of your long play game vids showing up again. Keep up your guard.

Congratulations Simon, anyone who gets in that square circle is a warrior. The problem for a GM is that anyone who fights you knows they need to knock you out, so they’re going to come out hard. Tough stuff 👊🏻🥊

You put up a good fight. I've done some tournament sparing and we where head gear to protect ourselves. Doing it without head gear I give you respect. I don't think you would have made it another round. That queen blunder was simonesq of you. Made me laugh as most of your streams do. So entertaining...lol. thanks for the video.

These comments are so divided! It’s like you put pineapple on pizza. I certainly don’t think boxing is good for everyone, but clearly it was great for you. It was a huge challenge physically and mentally in and out of the ring, and you took it on 100%. You put your whole self into it for months. The win was well deserved. Congratulations Simon! Very inspiring.

Wow! That was such a great spectacle to behold. Simon, if only you boxed with the same attacking aggression as your chess, then you would've taken less physical punishment. But i guess you're just too nice as a human being, and it's partly the reason why we love watching you every week. Once again, well done, " champ." 😂

It’s very common for inexperienced boxers to freeze up a bit, this was not bad at all actually against a more experienced, younger opponent with a longer reach. Nice job but yeah the clock issues really took something away. It happens…

I liked and commented, if I had any friends I'd have shared. I watched mma since around 93 but switched to chess a couple 3 years ago. I actually subscribed to you a few months after Finegold, and watch agadmator every day, though haven't played chess in decades (I won 2 local tournaments when young). The reason I watch is my insatiable curiosity of how people think. Hikaru has an IQ of like 110? Anyhow you are awesome (lovely in UK).

Amateurish officiating has cost Matt here. Big fan of the Ginger GM and I know Matt personally through chess. Why was the clock allowed to run during a medical time out? The final round of chess went on longer than it was supposed to. Matt may well have won given another round of boxing that he deserved or if he was given the time he should have had. I love the concept, but the organisation needs to become more professional.
@hattorihanzo22756 ай бұрын
They likely are amateur. Doubt anyone involved officiates boxing or organizes chess on a professional basis. I was hoping this would have been addressed in the video. No the best look but this was the worst I've seen. Not normally like this based on what I've seen of CBN. I am sure it pains them. The actual broadcast has sound issues so not the best night for 'em. Ginger likely didn't want to pile on.
@jackcirrone84236 ай бұрын
You know I totally agree with you that the officiating was dreadful. It was not all one sided mind you. The second round of chess was massively cut short because the arbiter did not know who had the next move. I really do not see what is so hard about starting and stopping a watch accurately.

Very entertaining but seemed like your opponent was screwed a few times on the clock. Should there not have another round of boxing when the clock ran down near the end? It ran down well before the chess ended, and even then the ref ended the chess match before his clock ran down.

@jinjurbreadman5 ай бұрын
I mentioned it. Very fishy stuff going on. Not only in round 4 where the round is paused but the clock not paused, but also in round 5 where chess is played for at least 4 minutes and 20 seconds in what should have been a 4 minute round.
