4:29 Does anyone know why you dont cross the x-5 in the numerator with the x-5 in the denominator. I always end up cancelling it out early

I’m pretty sure you cancel out only at the end and after expanding. Although, take what I say with a grain of salt.

(5-x)^2 would be 25-10x+x^2, whereas the expression given in the denominator is 25-x^2 - this is the difference of two squares!
