This video is hands down the best instructional video for installing a steering damper. I followed it exactly and successfully installed my damper. Although I deviated slightly by removing the grub screws first, thinking it would be the most challenging step. However, I encountered difficulty when trying to insert the screws into the holes from which the grub screws were removed. The screws would go in smoothly but halt halfway through. After much consideration, we concluded that applying force was the solution to securely position the screw. With that tight screw, the bracket is now firmly attached for good and will remain there for the rest of its life. I sincerely appreciate your effort in uploading this video as it proved to be incredibly helpful.

Damper is a great add. Wouldn't personally want to ride a powerful dual motor without it. Changes the handling for the better and one can release the steering with one hand at slower speeds if needed with far less worry. With the VSette, there's the added benefit of taking some stress off the charge ports, which would be right under the ball of my foot with my surfer riding style. For myself, the hard port covers accessory would also be a must.

My damper was sent to me by ewheels... while not branded it seems to be the same as here. I decided to actually install mine just now, directly after eating it at just 5mph while removing one hand (never a good idea) to scratch my face.. as expected I got a bit of road rash on my knee and forearm but I'll live to ride again.. but the screw you had a problem with gave me pause...so I decided to start with that.. the left one that was troubling for you was easy... the right on the other hand was concerning. I thought for sure I was gonna strip it but I got it.. thanks for the tutorial... I just wish I had already installed mine as I'm sure my recent incident wouldn't have happened.. I knew I should have.... I guess my crash was the nudge I needed.... now I'm off to Amazon for safety gear... thanks again.

Steering Damper should have every single scooter from 25mph and up as standard! I installed in a much slower than the vsett (kugoo g2 pro) and the handling was significantly better! Recommend 💪💪💪

If you get a longer steering damper, you can make the turns you can make match the built in steering stop that this scooter has.
@GingerOnWheels2 жыл бұрын
Yeah you do loose a few degrees to the left and right with this damper. I've read it's the only one that fits though. Do you have a link to a longer one that you can confirm works on this scooter?

@ElectronSean I've read multiple places that there is only one damper that fits this scooter. Where is this alleged longer version?

{over 2k miles on 10+} Adjusting throttle sensitivity greatly influences how easily cruise control engages. Top regen level makes a really cool hover board sound/vibration at low speeds... overcharge protection works and disengages the regen braking automatically 🤗

buy yourself an extra damper. unfortunately they don't last very long. can't wait to see you ride with the damper on. let me know if it restricts the turning radius.
@GingerOnWheels2 жыл бұрын
It restricted the radius by a bit on the left and right side. Nothing that I'd use while riding, but I could see it being harder to walk around tight corners or make 3 point turns with on a sidewalk or something. Remind me, what happened to your damper again? If I recall, there was one spot in the middle that sort of felt loose?

Yeah I've never really had the need for one. If you're experienced enough, wobbles will sort themselves out. Unless riding one handed, which is mainly what I want to experiment with on the vsett.

Same here. I’m always riding max speed in max settings and I don’t have any stability issues. It’ll be great if the VSETT 12+ comes out because the 12 inch tires on gopeds are very stable compared to the 10 inch ones on our VSETT 10+.

What is you though on the Vsett might be more unstable in comparsion to other models? I had only driven the Ninebot Max before, and crashed my 10 when going over a small unnoticed shoulder where wheels left the ground and a typical slow speed scooter crash. Cracked a rib by the feel of things but nothing else, and I bought the dampener 😊
@GingerOnWheels2 жыл бұрын
I don't think it's any less stable than other scooters with 10“ tires. It's only when riding one handed that I even notice it. With enough practice and the right technique you can easily ride any scooter without getting wobbles.

Yes, might be also depending on driver weight and hight... if weight os higher up or more down. Thanks for installing ahead, I ll give mine a try now

@Ginger on Wheels - would you ever Consider replacing your finger throttle for a thumb throttle on the VSett 10+? Similar to the one you tested in your prior video? I am relatively new to the scooters, but I feel like the VSett can be a bit jerky when accelerating or letting go of the throttle.
@GingerOnWheels Жыл бұрын
If you think the VSETT is jerky then you just need to open up the P settings and adjust the acceleration control. Vsett is so smooth with those settings dialed down.

bought one on Ali weeks ago but discovered they are not ‘original Vsett’, so I ‘disputed’. Also they cost even more then a compleat wheel with motor inside. If you think about it... three lose alu parts and a low quality damper sourced on the MTB market, someone makes a fortune with the idea building the bracket. So... good idea but hugely overpriced. Not installed yet, might take some space on the board?

Question So a steering damper is really just for stabilization but if you have a good foot placement/riding stance do you really need a steering damper I was riding in the streets on speed 2 when I first got the scooter(VERY DUMB IDEA ON MY PART) and had speed wobbles watched a couple KZbin videos and now I haven’t had speed wobbles since Ever since then I regularly check my tire pressure and I have a good stats and haven’t had speed wobbles so do I really need a steering damper or is it just for peace of mind
@GingerOnWheels2 жыл бұрын
You I don't think it's needed. It's just an added security blanket for intermediate level riders. Maybe you saw in the end of my more recent vsett videos I was riding and carving and braking from full speed on the vsett 10+ with no issue at all.
@damaribrackett11592 жыл бұрын
@@GingerOnWheels ohhh ok thank you and I did see it love watching your videos btw
@uria702 Жыл бұрын
It’s not “needed” but it’s nice to have. I don’t get much wobbles with my 10+ unless I ride two feet side by side. One thing about the 10+ is the deck is pretty short if you have long feet like size 11 or bigger. If you place your feet correctly, it won’t wobble. It will if you’re riding it like you would a scooter that goes 20mph. To ride this thing 40 or above you need to really pay attention to your stance
@harrison00xXx8 ай бұрын
Nice thing, but makes it obvious that your scooter will go VERY FAST. Nothing i would really do, at least here in europe with ridiculous limits such as 20-25km/h and about 350W mostly.

😂 my new scooter design has inherent dampening. And a much better 4.5in suspension throw. In my opinion these are add on hacks. Its also sturdier, longer lasting, and mostly CHEAPER ! Scooters are becoming waayy too convoluted lately. I just got rid of most of that extra junk, and it works a lot better.
@ihuliige67762 жыл бұрын
I don't like how the cable and the damper go on the same side
@GingerOnWheels2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I wasn't a fan of that at first either. When you stop and think about it though, the outward pressure on the damper from the cables is more likely to keep the larger 5mm screws tight. I can't see it ever damaging the cables, and your damper is perhaps less likely to come loose.

Your front bushing is correct...the rear one is wrong/backward. 😉 The "metal bearing" let the outer part flex movements around it...you want the BEVEL part of the plastic bushing to go into that metal ring..that is how it "sink inside" to secure the installation between the (bolt, metal bearing, and plastic bushing)...bushing job is to "secure that bearing"...let the silver bearing do its job...once secured like I've mentioned...THE OUTER PART OF THAT SILVER RING ROTATES/FLEXES "AROUND" IT ! Therefore, you must sink the bevel ends INTO the silver ring! This is the instructions straight from the manufacturer. ae01.alicdn.com/kf/H6db30273f0784e4cb17fd198495699c8I.jpg ae01.alicdn.com/kf/H6dfea355c558473a8e002a1deb98173bg.jpg
